A day of reflection

Today was my last day at Lincroft.  Very strange emotions.  I was only there for two weeks but i felt like a permanent member of staff.  This may have had a lot to do with starting on only the 5th day of the school year so probably didn't appear any more new than the new teachers and partly because it took next to no time the students to accept you as a part of their life.

Bless em.  Considering that they were all 9 and 10 years old they were all sad to see me go.  Even the boys.  Parish, Callum, Bradley, Owen, Alex and, of course, Robbie all looked glum and gave me massive hugs!!  I felt quite choked.  God knows what i'd have been like if i'd been teaching them for 4 years!  I guess it also shows how easily i become attached to children.  No doubt i'll drop in at christmas time to see how they're all getting on.  I grudgingly admit how hum-drum i am as if next april there was a teaching post at the school i'd jump at the chance to take it!

As for the start of term...  I can't wait!  Not for conventional reasons but because the sooner i start training, the sooner i'll be qualified and can start teaching 'for real'.
