Very, very boring update

Today I finished the second draft edits of Meka.

However I edit on a card copy with a good old fashioned red pen, so I still have to type a whole novel’s worth of edits into the computer. Then I shall print it all out and edit it again, while creating a little personal encyclopedia for whoever is cursed with the duty of editing the beast.

That means I still have a lot of work to go, but time-wise, this is the half way point.

The edits for ‘I, Aratika’ are going well too. My agent and I are aiming to get the manuscript ready for the 18th of August. This is a loose kind of date, suggested by my contact at TOR. I’m happy with it; however my poor agent is very overworked. Grin.

Some of you have probably noticed I’ve toned back my presence on live journal just a little. I’m really focusing on writing orientated posts on my f-list-those of you who have been making personal posts have been missing out on my comments a lot.

Including things like editing and replying to emails, my daily to do list currently numbers in the 20’s. This is without things like ‘shopping for groceries’ or other things that don’t happen every day. I’ve been a very busy girl!

As soon as I’m finished the third draft of meka, I’ll post the first chapter up here for everyone to read. Then I plan on posting up two more ‘first chapters’ from other projects, in the hopes all of you will vote and tell me which project I should work on next.

I’m really, REALLY keen to get back to writing. Editing kills me.

writing: progress: meka, writing: progress: i aratika
