Vidding for Charity; Some Vid Recs
bop_radar is auctioning off her vidding talents for charity. As most of you probably already know, Boppy is a fantastic vidder, and if you have an idea for a Smallville, Battlestar Galactica, Sarah Connor Chronicles, or Friday Night Lights that you are desperate to see made, this is your chance. While we're on the subject of vidding, let me get a few random vid recs off of my chest.
"Pegasus' Cloak" (Stargate: Atlantis): This gorgeous vid blends the sci-fi elements of the show with the human emotion of the characters to create a compelling portrait of Rodney McKay. keewick also manages to put a fresh spin on the McKay/Sheppard pairing with the charming use of poetry in the service of slash.
"so say we all ii (It's All Part of a Bigger Plan)" (Battlestar Galactica): I've said before that kiki_miserychic is an avant garde vidder, and this piece is another clear example. It's dense, trippy, strange, and breathtaking. And on top of that, it is quite stunningly beautiful. Candy for your eyeballs.
"I Want To Be Evil" (Multi-fandom): Smokin' hot women and even hotter editing. This is kick-ass to the nth degree.
"All These Things That I Have Done" (Film: Rang De Basanti): I have not seen the source, but it doesn't matter because martoufmarty takes me on a complete emotional journey in this incredibly well-crafted vid. Everything I need to know about the characters and their struggle is here, and at the end of it, I had tears in my eyes. This is a powerfully affecting vid.
"Skin" (Film: Casino Royale): I can't believe I never actually got around to reccing this vid! I am absolutely in love with it. Seriously, this is one of the most spectacularly well-edited vids I have ever seen in fandom. Full stop. In fact, I would go so far as to say that it is an editing masterwork that sets the bar for what vidding can be. In other words: I bow before chasarumba! :D
