Why Do We Like Vids?
I'm putting together an essay on my experience with vids, at betrue's request. She asked me flat-out why I like vids, and what I get out of them, because she was not feeling it so much. Yes, Virginia, there are people out there who do not "get" vids. This is something I needed to learn. So in order to help betrue to understand the attraction of vids, I need to be more articulate than just saying: "I like them because I like them."
The problem is, a lot of my reaction to vids is visceral and instinctive. It's going to be a challenge to put it into words. Therefore, I turn to the vidders and vid-fans out there for inspiration and discussion. Why do you like vids?
