Title: And this is how we show love… (aka Tama-chan’s 19th Birthday fic)

Author: talisa_ahn

Pairing/Fandom: TamaMiya with lots of EbiKisu

Disclaimer: Sadly, no, I do not have anything to do with anything related to JE. *sigh*

Genre: Humor with a side of romance

Rating: PG-13

Summary: Tama figures that on birthdays, people normally give you gifts, or at least treat you nicely. But the other members of EbiKisu really aren’t normal are they? They show their love and support of the birthday boy the only way they know how.

A/N: My first ever Tama-centric fic! *rejoices* I had a lot of fun writing this, but I really didn’t know it was this long… >.> Over 2,000 words? On the bright side though, it’s better written than the one I posted yesterday. ^^; I’ll go fix that other one later.

*Looks around* Where are the other Tama birthday fics? (._. ;)

EDIT:  Re-edited at work today.  ^^; (090319)

“Ohayo goz-“ Hashimoto started to say.

“Kawai-kun! Gimme back my skate!” Tamamori shouted, chasing the older boy into the ABC dressing room.

The boy in question gleefully jumped over the couch and out of Tamamori’s long reach, who in return let out a groan of anguish. “Give it back~! Fujigaya-kun’s gonna yell at me~!”

Kawai laughed. “It’s your birthday. No he won’t.”

He watched as Tamamori made another grab at Kawai.

“Yes, he will!”

“Just tell him it was my fault and he won’t,” he said nodding knowingly.

“LIES! That’s what you always tell Senga and it never works!”

Hasshi tilted his head before backing out of the room slowly. He didn’t really know what was going on, but he’d try again later.

.oO@Oo.

In the dance studio, the members of Kis-My-Ft2 were getting ready for practice. Fujigaya watched as Senga tried to teach Nikaido some dance moves he’d learned from Yara and Yamamoto. No matter how he looked at them, he just thought they looked like one creatively ambitious sex position after another. He shrugged moving his gaze across the rest of the room, glancing over Yokoo finishing up his bread to land on Kitayama and Miyata stretching. Kitayama was yawning, slowly waking up as he pulled one arm in front of him, but Miyata kept looking over his shoulder at the door.

Quietly, he counted to himself. One, two, three, four, five… “Miyacchi! Where’s Tama-chan?”

.oO@Oo.

“Hasshi… Not that we don’t miss you or anything,” Sanada started, sitting on the opposite end of the couch.

“But why are you here?” Nozawa finished, watching horror-struck as the younger boy opened yet another bag of snacks.

.oO@Oo.

“And where were you?”

He said it so pleasantly that Tamamori cringed a little. Not only was he late, he was still missing his left skate. “Kawai-kun-“ was all he managed before getting cut off.

By the time Fujigaya left to retrieve Tama’s skate, even Nikaido was looking at him with a little empathy. “It’s just like Senga.”

“Yeah,” Kitayama said laughing. “I feel like this happened to Senga just last week!”

The youngest member patted his shoulder, sympathetic. “Don’t worry! This always happens to me, but he never stays mad!”

Tamamori just let out another groan. There was no way he ever wanted to be ‘just like Senga.’

.oO@Oo.

The other members of ABC looked up as Sanada guided Hashimoto into the room. “Please. Take him back.”

“Um… ok,” Tottsu said patting the open seat next to him.

“Thanks,” the younger boy said sighing in relief. “Nozawa looked like he was about to kill him.”

Once Sanada was no longer in sight, they turned to look at their newest member. “What did you do exactly?”

He looked back at them, eyes wide. “I really don’t know.”

.oO@Oo.

“Tama-chan~!” Senga cried out, bouncing over to where the taller boy was putting money into the vending machine.

“Hmm?” Calpis or Aquarius… hmm….

“Ne, ne, ne! What did Miyata do for you on White Day?”

Tamamori looked up at that. “What do you mean, ‘What did Miyata do for me’?”

Senga looked confused as he thought his words over again. “No, that’s what I meant. What’d he have planned?”

He stared. “Why didn’t you ask me what I did for him?”

The younger boy tilted his head to the side. “Why would you have done something for him? It was White Day, silly!”

“And I’m a boy. Why couldn’t I have done something for him?”

Senga just laughed.

.oO@Oo.

When Goseki and Tsuka plopped down on either side of him right after lunch, his eyes darted around to see if there was someone nearby who could save him… just in case. He didn’t think the members of ABC would actually do something to him (at least not these members of ABC), but with the way things were going today, he just couldn’t help the panic that flickered in his eyes. “Yes?”

“You worry too much,” Goseki said, putting his arm on his shoulder.

“We just wanted to wish you a ‘Happy Birthday’!” Tsuka said brightly.

“Oh,” he said, smiling back. Tsuka’s smile really was contagious. “Thank you!”

“Don’t mention it.” Goseki plopped a rather heavy wrapped box in his lap. “Happy Birthday~!”

“We have to go get ready for practice now. See you later!” and the two were gone.

Looking around, he realized how quiet their dressing room actually was. Kitayama was napping on the couch and Nikaido was flipping through a magazine, music blasting through his headphones, but none of the other members were there. He looked back at the box in his lap. It was actually the first present he’d gotten today.

Opening the wrapping carefully, he lifted the box’s lid.

“Tama-chan! I heard you were looking for me.”

“Yuta! Wait! Don’t!”

Box lid still in his hands, the birthday boy looked up to see Koyama standing over him, Miyata close behind. His boyfriend squeezed his eyes shut, knowing he was already too late when their sempai reached into the box and pulled out one of the bottles of beer.

Koyama loved his kouhai. Really, he did. Because if he didn’t (and if such things hadn’t affected his own group so deeply in the past) he wouldn’t have seen any need to lecture the still under aged birthday boy about going down the wrong path that could affect his entire career as well as that of the other members. And really, if he didn’t, he wouldn’t have seen the need to do so for nearly 20 minutes.

When Koyama (finally) left, box of beer with him, Tamamori slumped into his chair. He looked at Miyata, the older boy taking his hand. “I’ve been framed…”

His boyfriend squeezed his hand tightly. “I know. I overheard the plotting in ABC’s dressing room and came running.”

Since Miyata was standing next to him, he leaned to rest his head on his hip, inhaling the familiar scent. “You’re the worst Prince Charming ever. I want a refund.”

.oO@Oo.

They looked up in surprise when Tamamori stormed into their dressing room. It wasn’t rare for a Kisumai member to be there (it was actually really weird when there wasn’t one), but just usually not Tamamori… and never by himself.

“What is this?! Steal-Tamamori’s-Things-And-Hide-Them-With-ABC Day?” The younger boy’s eyes flickered from one face to another, but stopped at Tottsu. “You.”

“Me?”

“Yeah. You. Gimme back my flat iron.”

There was a moment of silence before the others burst into laughter. “I knew it was a bad idea for Kitayama to give it to you!” Kawai cried.

“Gocchi woulda been the smarter choice,” Tsuka laughed clapping his hands gleefully.

Nodding his head in agreement, Goseki said, “Tottsu shows it on his face too quickly.”

Grinning sheepishly, Tottsu held out the younger boy’s flat iron for him to grab. “Gomen ne.”

“Better you than Kawai-kun.” And he meant that will his whole being ‘cause not only did Tottsu actually return things, he didn’t have to wonder whether or not it would still be functioning later.

.oO@Oo.

“That was fast,” Fujigaya murmured as Tamamori re-entered the room.

“Hiro gave it to Tottsu,” Yokoo whispered back. “Of course he’s back fast.”

“Well if you had managed to grab everything the first time around instead of stuffing your face, we wouldn’t have needed to give anyone his precious flat iron!”

“S’not like you were helping!” the older boy shot back. “You asked Kawai to buy you time and you didn’t even notice when he did!”

“Would you guys shut up!?” Nika hissed. “He’s about to shove Kitamitsu off the couch.”

“Pfft… As if that would actually wake him up.”

.oO@Oo.

As Tamamori packed his bag to go home, he faced away from the others so they couldn’t see him pouting. What kind of birthday was this anyway? Everyone had just taken it as a day to pick on him more than usual.

Miyata was nowhere in sight, so he muttered his “Osaki ni,” and headed to the train station alone. As he approached the gates he reached into his bag to grab his wallet.

“Are?”

He stopped mid-stride when his fingers didn’t touch the familiar material. Moving to crouch next to a wall, he opened his bag to get a better view. Sifting through its contents he realized that not only was his wallet (which contained his train pass) missing, but also his house keys.

“What the-“ he started to say but was cut off by the buzzing of his phone.

Flipping it open, the message read, [Practice Room 7. See you there. =^-^=]

.oO@Oo.

The hallway was silent as he approached Practice Room 7, which was weird since it was never this quiet. He would later realize that this should have tipped him off as to what was waiting for him, but he was tired. It had been a long day of constantly getting teased and he was even annoyed that Miyata hadn’t been attached to his hip the entire time. He was wondering again what the hell kind of birthday this had turned out being as he opened the door to the practice room.

It was dark inside, seemingly empty, and for a second, Tamamori wanted to slap himself for walking into yet another prank. But just as he was about to turn around and leave, the room flooded with light.

He was suddenly overwhelmed by shouts of “Happy Birthday!” and “Surprise~!”

Looking around he could see lots of smiling faces. The other members of Kisumai were standing at the front with ABC holding up a birthday banner. Behind them were the chibi juniors he hadn’t seen running down the hall on his way here as well as some of the staff. He could feel his smile match theirs as he looked over their heads. Posted at the back wall was a blown up version of the TV Guide article of Gokusen.

Unfortunately, the feelings of pride and pleasure were immediately squished when he noticed that the enlarged photo next to it was the extremely unflattering one of him looking like of fish.

“Oi!” he yelled, but when he moved towards it with every intention of ripping it to shreds, Fujigaya happily steered him towards the cake on the opposite end of the room.

When he protested, the older boy laughed. “Cake first. The kiddies gotta go home and the sempai aren’t exactly free forever.”

Tamamori looked around to see Koyama, Nakamaru, and even Tackey. He couldn’t help but feel a rush of happiness that they’d taken time to wish him a ‘Happy Birthday’.

As everyone sang “Happy Birthday” for a second time (they’d had to start over again when Senga, Nikaido, Tsuka, and Fumito broke out into the NEWS’ version instead), he could feel a familiar presence move to stand behind him. Miyata squeezed his hand lightly, letting go before the chibi’s could notice.

“Happy Birthday dear Tama-chan~ Happy Birthday to you~!”

.oO@Oo.

When they finally made it home, he let out a long sigh of relief as he dove for the bed. “Why was today so long…” he moaned.

Miyata closed the bedroom door. “’Cause everyone wanted to show their love for you?”

“You sure? ‘Cause I can think of a bunch of other ways they could have done it.”

The older boy laughed, crawling under the covers and gathering his boyfriend into his arms. “Like how?”

“Carry me to practice… Give me presents… Buy me food…” he listed yawning.

“But that wouldn’t match them… And they sorta did those last 2.”

Thinking this over, Tamamori hummed his agreement, snuggling his way into a more comfortable position. “I guess you’re right.”

“Of course I am!” he murmured with a smile.

They were quiet as he stroked his fingers through the silky brown strands. When he was sure Tamamori had fallen asleep, he closed his own eyes.

“Tanjoubi omedetou, Tama-chan.”
