Title: The Real Meaning of Member Ai (Part 2 of 4)
Author: talisa_ahn
Pairing: None… but if you’re the type of person to look real hard… maybe MassuPi or KoyaPi
Disclaimer: Sadly, no, I do not have anything to do with anything related to JE. *sigh*
Genre: Drama? I don’t usually write like this so I’m not really sure
Rating: PG
Summary: Massu’s away for filming but things go wrong back home. What happened to Pi?
Warning: Kinda depressing for Valentine’s season. Just saying.
A/N: I am well aware that Massu’s RESCUE filming is in Tokyo (well… Yokohama. Close enough). Humor me.
-----------------------------------------
Massu called or at least tried to, every day. With his shooting schedule in competition with their busy schedules, he sometimes had to call around for an update.
At first, Pi was kept in intensive care because of the pneumonia in combination with extremely low blood pressure. But then Pi’s heart rate was becoming increasingly irregular. Just going to the short steps to the restroom could cause it to spike.
Shige, the most recent one to update him, kept assuring him throughout the phone call that the nurses looking over Pi were very nice and were keeping a close eye on him.
“Of course they’re keeping a close eye on him,” he could hear Ryo say in the background. “They’re flirting with him a whole lot too while they’re at it.”
The next day, he wasn’t able to call, but was relieved, although a little confused, to see that he’d gotten an email from Jin.
[Ryo told me I should update you. I went during Pi’s dinner time to make sure he’s eating. He keeps saying that the hospital food is terrible (‘cause it is) and that he doesn’t want to eat it, so we (and by ‘we’ I mean Shige) talked to the doctor. Since he doesn’t need to be on a strict diet, they came to the agreement that it’s more important that the eat something. Anything.
Managed to get him to eat a couple bites of miso soup and about half an inari sushi. He eats really slow and it makes him exhausted.
…
Masuda-kun… he’s lost a lot of blood. I don’t know how and we don’t know where its suddenly gone, but they’re giving him a blood transfusion right now. They’ll do more tests tomorrow once he’s rested a bit.]
Massu was starting to hyperventilate. How could it be possible that there was so much so wrong all of a sudden? He’d tried to be the staff to let him take a break from filming so that he could be with his friends, but they reminded him that his doing so would hold up the entire drama and Massu just couldn’t bring himself to be that selfish.
Deep down, he knew that everyone was pulling together for Pi. From what he gathered, someone was always at the hospital, even outside of visiting hours. The nurses and hospital staff had long given up on keeping Koyama and Ryo out. Even if they couldn’t be in the room (Pi got exhausted easily because as tired as it made him, he wanted to talk to people), they were in the waiting room.
Just in case.
Massu just hated being so far away.
Looking back at Jin’s message, he realized that he hadn’t read the whole thing.
[Try not to worry too much. The faster you finish filming there, the faster you can come back. They don’t say it out loud, but they’re worried about you. Don’t get distracted and do something stupid. I don’t think any of them would handle it well if something happened to you too.]
TBC…
Part 3 a/n: So… I noticed that over 80 people have read this fic… and only 3 people commented. Haha… Please comment! I like hearing what people think. Your favorite part, a part that sucks, or even just a ‘hi’. Onegaiishimasu. ^-^
