OTPs
I love the term OPT. I have been in Fandom over half my life. For the vast majority of that time OTP has been a very commonly used shorthand for talking about my favorite couples. But now that a few people in a few fandoms have decided the term is evil and is an attack on them. Just looking at the FW entry shows that most people in most Fandoms just use OTP as meaning favorite couple. I have been using it that way for over a decade in all my various fandoms. This current wank is the first time I have ever seen this irrational shipping interpretation of OTP. And I read in a lot of fandoms, Fandom Wank, Meta Fandom. I think I would have seen it if it was that common.
I have a bunch of OTPs in DW alone, 4&Romana, 10&Rose, 10II&Rose, 11&River. Although DW is a special case. I usually have one OTP per fandom. But I am not judging people who ship other pairings. I am certainly not saying that my OTP is the only OTP, just that it is the only OTP for me. Monoshipping sounds like a disease. But if Amaresu wants to use it, no skin off my nose. It doesn't effect me in any way. Just don't tell me what terms I can and can not use thank you very much.
