We have an apartment!
Wow, that was quick! Got into Pittsburgh on Sunday (Aug 19th) and on Wednesday (Aug 22nd) we were paying our first months rent and deposit on an apartment! We're still settling in though. Last night we just had a leaky air mattress and a folded over comforter to sleep on. We bought a new mattress and boxspring set at the Goodwill today though, and we've already set up the bed so we have somewhere comfortable to sleep tonight. We also picked up a table and 4 chairs set, and two end tables at the Goodwill also. One end table we're using for the tv (but we wont have cable *tear*, hopefully the rabbit ear antenna I brought ((if i can find them!!)) will pick up local stations), the other we are putting next to the bed for an alarm clock and stuff. At least we can play the Wii and, when we find where Jeremy packed his DVD player, we can watch our the many TV shows we have on DVD.
We need to get a computer desk, we're hoping for one nice long regtangle table...like the ones my father has (i forgot to bring one, darn!). With the new fangled falt screen monitors you dont need much depth at least. We're gonna use two dining room chairs as computer chairs, since we only need 2 to eat at. We also got two supercool beanbag chairs (wedding gift from Lauren!). They're chair shaped, roughly, and beanbags, so good for watching tv and playing the Wii on.
We dont really have much furniture yet, but its enough to get by on. Id like to get a dresser, and some shelves, but we'll see. Also, no internet till around the 1st of September! *sobs* But we should have the computers up and ready to go, so at least we'll be online almost instantly after the dsl modem box arrives.
I am just happy to have an apartment and a pair of mattresses at this point. =)
