First up...Happy Brithday to caribou95, eng_monkey and november_girl.

Second up, in full 'cos I can't get the Cuts to work, The Lions Winter Parliament

Beyond the hassle of getting to the event, thanks to a probably very nice Ryanair Ticket Desk girl saying to us to check in at Area 7 at 17:10, rather than go to Area 7 check-in just before 17:10 and see if there is a space for you (we were flying standby) as the Check-in closes promptly at 17:10.. We got down there at 17:12 and they had closed the Check-in...even though they knew we were here and looking to get on the flight. They then, nicely, offered to put our tent through Oversized Luggage as it wouldn't get through Security, but we would have to carry the rest of our bags down to the Departure Gate....never mind that the 2 rucksacks would normally go through Oversized Luggae and the 2 sleeping bags and my small backpack went that way on the way back. Why they couldn't have put it all through Oversized Luggage I don't know. Result: we got fleeced by Security and they took off us the knife and fork form doriangray's camping set, but not mine as they never found it. All the needles, opins and the needle nosed pliers from doriangray's sewing kit and my handy roll of PVC tape. These seemingly are all dangerous and can be used as weapons (or rewstraints in the case of the PVC tape). They did leave me, however, with my rather large bunch of keys, my belt, my work ID lanyard, my spare belt, a pewter tankard and a camping light. All of which are more deadly as weapons than a camping knife from a Knife/Fork/Spoon set. Never mind...we got there in the end.

The Event itself rocked. Much kudos to The Lions Plot Team (bitters_ashes, mrdaniel, psysquid, dave2jones, igotaplan and fundessie). Particularly to fundessie, who I believe wrote the main plot line. Also much kudos to the Monsters, particularly die_fleiderhat, badgersandjam, Jamie Wakefield, wyzziwyg, larpexiles, tatty_tigermoth, Pete Fishwick and oldnick for there cool portrayal of the DuPre family. There were others as well but I either can't remember their names or I don't know them. Other kudos to float_vagabond, Charlie, Andy & kreiglust for keeping us fed and to the Faction Command (Vikiy Myers and Gray) and the Ops and Other Staff (Paul Baker, Laura, spiraltower, caribou95 and sundry others) who made it one of the best, if not the best, sanctioned event I have ever played at. IC kudos also to rebby for taking me on as an apprentice and trusting me with certain things and wyzziwyg for thinking I was an important enough 'shaker and mover' to be marked for assasination- how wrong you were! I learned about that one when it was all over. The only problem was the cold and the lack of heat & light in the bar.
I've said it already to some of you, but can we have the hostel (any hostel!) back for next years Winter Parliament.

In other news, I am looking for a new job, 'cos my current one doesn't pay me enough. Anyone with any ideas let me know. I am looking to work in Tech Support or Customer Support.
My car is almost on the road...just need tax now, but that will be next month. With a bit of luck I will pass my Driving Licence first time and will be able to drive to the Heartland Games and later events.

Thats it...more later, maybe!
