Dear Friends
This is a public entry. Yes, my LJ is friends only and I thought that since I meet so many new people nowadays and most of them are on LJ as well...that I'd put up a post about friends and friendship for people to read when they note me to add them to their friends list. If you're new to my journal...welcome! ^_^
People sometimes ask me why my journal is friends only. I usually respond jokingly with "I don't want stalkers!" or something of that nature. The truth of the matter is that I enjoy the thought that I have something that's just for people that I consider special to me. ^_^
Some of you I've known for quite a long time....clear back from my days of X-Files chat long past. Others I've met through the cosplay community and I've known you guys for a little over a year now (wow! time flys!) and others I've known a bit less. Nonetheless, I'm very happy and proud to know you all. Each of you are very dear to me and I value your friendship. ^_^
I used to not give my friendship very lightly. I still don't. It take me a bit to fully trust someone. Past betrayls and previous toxic friendships have taught me to be careful and to guard my heart. I've also learned that I also can't keep my heart under lock and key either. A person needs love and friendship to thrive. (and when I say love I don't mean the romantic kind exactly) I've done the bitter and anger thing and...never again!
Rest assured that when I meet new people that no, I don't regard you with suspicion or anything. ^_^ I regard you with a sort of gentle bemusement that you would find me interesting enough to want to add me to your LJ. ^_^ *laughs* Thank you for that! I'll happily add you if you ask and I'm even happier to have a new friend.
I'm usually not this eloquent. I also have a LOT of trouble conveying my feelings into words. My apologies for that! I usually say things along the lines of "I love you like a fat kid loves cake!" A silly way of putting how much I care about someone yes, but let me assure you that even though the words may not be serious that the meaning behind them is. ^_^ I'll never tell you that I care about you and not mean it. Once you have my loyalty and friendship it's pretty hard to lose it. (seriously..you'd have to screw up royally for me to disown you.)
I'll always be here for all of you if you ever should need me. I'm definately not going anywhere anytime soon! I only wish I had the time and the words to sit you all down and tell you all what you mean to me. (damn, that'd be a HUGE LJ post!) So I'll conclude by saying thank you Dear Friends.
