Hello Girl Scout Families
Get involved in this first ever GSSWC contest. Provide a 500 word essay that reflects the Girl Scout mission statement. Girl and Adult prizes will be awarded. All entries must be postmarked by September 30, 2007.
Mission to Support the Mission Essay Contest
Mission Statement:
“Girl Scouting build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.”
Two $100 GSSWC certificates will be issued, one to the girl finalist and one to the adult finalist. Certificates are redeemable for GSSWC sponsored programs, summer camp, site rentals or used in Our Store. There will also be five Honorable Mentions, one in each age level: Daisy/Brownie, Junior, Cadette, Senior and Adult. Each will receive a $25 GSSWC certificate.
Certificates will expire September 30, 2008.
Rules:
Essays must reflect the Girl Scout mission statement and should be no longer than 500 words. For girls, when thinking of your Girl Scout experience -- how have you gained courage, confidence, and/or developed your character through Girl Scout activities? For adults, please share a personal story of your own growth in Girl Scouting incorporating the Mission Statement, or share a story involving girls with whom you have worked.
By submitting your essay, you give Girl Scouts of Swift Water Council permission to use your story for promotional purposes (publications, media, web site etc.). Only the first name of girl entries will be used when their stories are shared. Visit
