Reunited......On Channel 7
OMG.....
Today will be an incredibly strange day. I have a family friend Nicky, who used to help look after my brother and I when we were younger and both my parents were away. We have known her for years its going on to about 10 now.
She left us for a while to do work with disabled people and recently after my surgery stint end of 06 early 07 to help out mum while I recovered. She's been with us since then, and been a part time carer to my grandmother along with my help.
The news is that she was left as a child and was raised by her grandparents, she has a son who has ADD and whom I have watched grow up since he was about 7. She had been searching for her mum forever, and just before Christmas they found her, in California. She was so thrilled that Nicky had found her, and organised for her to go to California to meet her for the first time since she gave her up.
The best part is that, because of the fact that so many people never find their birth parents, this is going to be covered on a speacial feature on Channel 7 about finding lost relatives, so today they will be at my grandma's house and my house and filming how Nicky interacts with my grandma, what she's been doing with out family over the years and I'm going to be the person of the family featured. I'm going to be on T.V! which is so exciting and uber scary at the same time.
But for Nicky I would do anything, she's always been an amazing person to our family and she taught me how to stand up for myself and gave me a lot of confidence, I never knew I could have.
It's going to be strange but I can't wait to see it all happening, we'll have channel 7 crew here today and all sorts of things.
