Beans is home safe, and recovering insanely well. Apparently it took her a new record of four hours to get out of the corset. She's not worrying at the wound (actually, she left it the hell alone, even when it was a huge lumpy pseudo-testicle) so we're leaving it to air dry - the vet does intra-dermal stitches and uses glue for the external in the most part. She's being astonishingly good-humoured over the whole thing, if a bit pissy at being in the smaller hospital cage with limited clambering. But she does have a new hobby - walking upside down along the underside of the cage top :D

Wanted to get some more water tanks and hit bunnings and get a haircut this weekend, but that was obviously kiboshed. So instead I ended up repairing the shade. taking care of the garden and reclaiming the back yard from the storm damage. Fennel got one hell of a haircut, dug out, mixed in compost, dug over and generally threw dirt everywhere on the second half of the veggie garden. Moved two of our huge lettuces out to there, moved a third to a huge clay bowl by the back door, and gave Mqhele the fourth in a pot. Potted the basil and generally made a huge mess everywhere with utter glee :D

And we are now the proud owners of a potato patch :P

Garden is coming along swimmingly - the peas and cucumbers are flowering and ready to start punching out ratty delights, lettuces are huge and fat, our herb garden is full of spring onions, parsley, basil (with more to come) and the rocket, tomato, leek and more cucumber seedlings are singing along happily in the greenhouse. All we need to do is use the chook shed for its intended purpose and we could pretty much harvest our entire Christmas lunch :D

Next to do: Four more 110l tanks to daisy-chain and fit in the narrow concrete space behind the chook shed to capture water right next to the garden (and make the stand for said tanks!), and a shit-ton of mulch to tidy up the garden beds. Also want to build another garden box for sunnier veggies to put along the fence opposite the back door, and get that pump for the fountain. Bloody hell we look like serious gardeners!

It's been piss-raining here like crazy, so I'm scrambling for tanks, pots, bins, jerry cans, buckets, shit, we even put the coffin into use holding water until I get the new tanks. Got over 500l so far, and I have no intention of letting this bounty sneak away before the hot weather kicks in. Tomatos are complete water whores. (My end plan is to have those four tanks behind the chook shed servicing the garden beds, with an auto-timer and a soaker hose to water them twice a day, and to top those tanks up with water from the washing machine as needed) Apart from venturing out every so often to tap a couple of bucketloads of water from a tank into a nearby bin, I've been sacking out in the house playing with ratties, arsing around on my laptop, and rebuilding the MeeVee.

It's nice when you finally get to fix up all those little niggly "I should do that..." things...even nicer if you manage most of it in a single weekend :D

Now for the grand HD cleanup and burning of disks! I have an extra 500gb in Enigma now, time to start filling it...

Mmm. Wall-o-text post. Fwee.
