First sentence should double as title...
You know you've been at the same job for a long enough time when your thought processes start influencing your regular life without warning when you start correcting things you read when you're out and about and away from work, nor even thinking about it in the slightest.
Seen tonight on an electronic billboard advertising Fox News: "Cost of Stamps is Rising." Corrected version that in no way shape or form was asked for but my brain provided anyway: "Cost of Stamps Rising." News is all about making things shorter and packing as much information into sentences as possible. (For those of you who read my fiction writing story, you'll know this is not my strong point. Also, case in point, just take a gander at my first sentence.) I swear the motto of any day is, "Death to helping verbs."
