I have quite a good number of Tales of Series Original Soundtracks and stuff and I've been wondering if anyone would be interested in me ripping and encoding them into MP3? I know you probably can already find some of these over at Abyssal Chronicles, so I'm not too sure if anyone would be interested in me ripping and encoding my own versions or ( Read more... )

Most people go for FLAC nowadays. I think I'm the only person that actively hunts down music that doesn't fap over FLAC. But if you're going to rip to MP3, using 320kbps is best. 192 is just a waste of time anymore.

I did think about doing VBR, but I heard some players and portable MP3 players may have problems playing VBR. Maybe I'll do 320 CBR and VBR instead...

I'd definitely be interested in mp3s. FLAC is kind of pointless, IMO - if I wanted "CD quality" (which very few people can tell the difference in anyway), I'd go buy the cd =| 320 would be nice, but I'm pretty much happy with what I can get.

I'd probably be interested (the Original Soundtracks are the OSTs and such, aren't they?). |D I don't know anything about encoding, though, so I'm afraid I have no input there apart from that I'd be happy with mp3s.

Yeah, it's the original soundtracks for various Tales of Series. I'm planning on mass buying a bunch of Tales of Series OSTs at the end of this year to use up my CDJapan coupons, so it'd be something interesting to do.

I'm definitely interested if you plan to do so.
