Very pleased to get your review, especially since yours in another insightful opinion. I do enjoy the way you write Sirius, so I'm pleased you find this scenario believable.

I so agree with you on Sirius’s strength. There are a few canon moments that nearly break my heart-his need to explain to Harry, that smile in the tunnel, and practically starving himself in that cave out of loyalty.

I know Sirius ultimately betrays Moony’s secret here and the general consensus is 'What was he thinking?' The explanation I come back to again and again in my own mind is: He wasn't thinking. Speaking from personal experience, ha, Gryffindors often seem to think with their hearts instead of their heads. So even though we are told by McGonogall that Sirius was 'exceptionally bright', I’m convinced his emotions spurred him to do what he did. And in a twisted way, those emotions tie back to loyalty to his friends: He's outraged that Snape is poking his nose into their critical business. And then there’s this idea I tried to weave that if Snape makes it clear he already knows what's going on, it doesn’t even occur to Sirius that he's betraying Moony's secret.

Knowing that you’d enjoy reading more is totally motivating, so thank you. No apologies needed for having a million things on your plate and coming back with a well-thought review.

This challenge was brilliantly rolled out and the community, welcoming-well done, mods, I say! Plus, that little Kings of Leon tune kept me motivated when I needed to adopt a little dose of intensity. I gave that quite a few listens. ; )

I've read the summary of yours and it's very, very tempting. Can't wait to get there!
