Congrats. XD I voted for your icon, too. A question. Where did you get the circly brush thing you used on the icon (or can you teach me how to make one of those :P)?
Thank you! The effect wasn't acheived with brushes at all, I'll try to explain it simply here:
After I had Zelos coloured as I wanted, I used the circular marquee tool and made a copy of that section of the image (if you hold ctrl+shift while pressing c (to copy), it will take from all the layers in the icon) and moved it up to the top.
I duplicated that bit and then used radial blur>>zoom on it, but I dragged the center of the blur to the top-left corner; that's how the blurriness was achieved.
The circular light part is a texture by lifeisdolce placed underneath all the circle layers, and the dot light textures were by tove91.
