I'll go with Estelle for the being smart, open-minded, stubborn, and seeing good in everyone, and actually a lot in this whole thing.

... I think I gotta go with Estelle as well, kiddo. I know you wanna BE A MAN for this but it just fit too nicely. The intelligence aspect, teaching yourself things, getting sidetracked when coming up with characters? Indecisive? Maybe it's because it's at the very beginning of the app but right away that pink haired... thing came into my head.

I did, however, read the quote first and think something TOTALLY different. I can't even remember... who. But whatevs.

Also, the seeing good in everyone dealio? Sorry dude, but that wreaks heroine material. Not so much on the shy aspect though.

I'm going to say Emil. He's shy, just like you, and he's the type who loves and accepts everyone. Actually, everything you wrote made me think of Emil. I thought of Lloyd too, but I think Emil is a much better fit :3

I haven't seen enough of Emil to tell, and the way I know yu doens't quite fit.

There was definitely some Chloe there IMO, but since you're asking for a boy...
There was some Mao, and that's what I saw at the beggining. However, as I went on I've been getting stronger an stronger vibes of Jay. It's all in the pessimism but hope for the best, the shyness mixed with snark, the inability to communicate feelings properly.
