Title: A Field of Bells

Warnings: Set post-game, so beware, but no blatant spoilers.
"Oh, Tear, I'm so happy we're finally going out and doing something!" Mieu squeaked, sitting atop the picnic basket Tear carried as she walked calmly away from Baticul into the quiet fields. Little blue flowers swayed on their stalks in the breeze.
Tear was quiet as usual. "You can pick us a spot," she told Mieu. He turned his head this way and that, taking in the wide, open area with his big eyes. The flowers were bell shaped, hanging three or five to a single stalk. If they had been real bells, they would have been ringing, their song echoing out over the land. But they were only flowers, cerulean blue, and they remained as tranquil as Tear.
"I know it's taking longer than we expected, Tear, but Master will come back. He promised!" Mieu assured her.
"I know," she answered.
Blades of grass scrunched beneath her feet and a thicker stem cracked. Tear hated to step on the flowers, but there was nowhere to step between them due to their great numbers. "Oooh, stop here, Tear! This is a good spot."
"Alright. If this is the place you want." She set the picnic basket down on the grass and lifted up one end of the woven cover of the basket to pull out a checkered picnic blanket. She stepped back and unfolded the piece of cloth, doing her best to lay it down smoothly over the plants.
Mieu peeked into the basket, "The sandwiches you made look so good! I've really worked up an appetite!"
"Even though I was carrying you the whole way here?" Tear inquired with a smile.
"Well, yeah, since I was working so hard this morning to keep up Luke's diary for him while he's away. It's not easy to write with such a big, heavy pencil."
Tear began to blush slightly as she imagined the cute scene. "I'll, um, I'll have to help you find something smaller to write with," she told the little cheagle.
Well, today is technically the last day for this round of posting. How's everyone who hasn't posted their stories yet doing?
