China trip

Apr 22, 2011 13:53

I just got back from my (father's business) trip to Guang Zhou, China! The Electronic & Machinery part of Canton Fair - China's Import and Export Fair - was held there for 5 days, and so we ( or rather, dad n big bro ) went to take a look at the new agricultural machines!

Brief, brief, rather short summary. No pict inserted coz I didn't bring a camera with me. orz

14th: Arriving
Had to transit in HK airport inbetween. Man, the place was huge! I somehow managed to stay there for 7 hours or so. Bought a dragon-carved bottle opener and a set of coloured straps over there for... friggin 150 HKD. Not worth the money, but nevermind. I wanted a keepsake orz. Btw, the Ajisen's miso ramen's tonkotsu slices were horribly thick, they're practically insults to Japan's miso ramens.
By the time we reached our hotel, it was 12 midnight. Overall? One day of wasting time, I'd say.

15th: Day 1
Woke up at 6.45 a.m to greet the first day of the fair! It was my first time attending it, so we had to que for about 2.5 hours to make an entry pass. Gotta admit, I was actually amazed at the sheer amount of people overseas selling China's product. Even more so when I see them big shots eating McD, outside the restaurant (but still indoors); on the floor and staircases.

Pretty much worn out just by walking and saying hello's to dad's suppliers. And lack of sleep isn't helping, so my bro and I resigned from being entertained by dad's guests.

16th: Day 2
Water, water, and more H2O. Also means going to the toilet every time we'r done visiting 2 booths. The staffs kept on giving up a 500ml of water each, that's why! orz Worning out our feet again aside, dad's supplier partners took us out on a VERY high-class restaurant which specialised on seafood! Needless to say that they are undoubtedly delicious (c'mon, man. The price ranges from 200 to 500+ yuan per dish) but I like the chinese cabbage soup which, apparently, others are not fond of ;_; More of them for me to eat, so that's O.K.! ;Db

17th: Day 3
FINALLY done greeting dad's suppliers at noon. We went back to the hotel afterwards and rest/slept until dinnertime, in which another suppliers from a different company took us out~ To yet another high class chinese restaurant.

18th: Day 4
All of a sudden dad wanted to look at oil processors to sell, so off we went, back to the fair. There wasn't much to see as there're only... what, 2-3 brands producing them? Got the work done pretty fast, so we went to the home appliances section. Dad was truly fascinated by the bladeless electronic fan, it was a sight to see.

19th: Slacking off
AWW YEAH BB I SLEPT UNTIL NOON~*~ And we went to Beijing Rd afterwards. Ransacked a bookstore and found no mangas, but there were illustrated novels. There was this historical road dated back since the 7th century that turned dad to his patriotic mode for less than an hour in total, but otherwise nothing special. Only shopping activities can be done there after all.

20th: End of trip
Went back home HUZZAH /o/ Had katsudon for lunch, blueberry tea for tea break. I wouldn't call blueberry tea disgusting since there may be people who likes it, but the taste was certainly...unique enough to make me dislike it llorz. NEVER.HAVING THAT AGAIN.

In other news, I just started playing Cardfight Capital today! I met a really nice person who helped me with the manuals and uncountable silly mistakes and stuff C'mon, man. I don't think anyone would have to re-do damage check 3x sob. He/she even went as far as to go easy on me by letting 4 damage went by with merely her vanguard! Such a nice person.

Next trip: 12 day tour to Austria, Hungary, Czech an Germany starting on the 17th May!

rl, trips, good people, don't do moonspeak
