My new laptop, is beautiful. I'm still setting it up, and my BORN album still hasn't gotten here (wtf cd japan) so I haven't been able to fully test out its multi-tasking capabilities of browsing the internet and talking via IMs while converting a video, but we'll see. Also, the keyboard feels sturdier than my last laptop, and the sound, omfg the BEATS speakers that came with the laptop, I almost don't need to listen to music on my headphones to get some bass. It handled dubstep fairly decently for laptop speakers. I also had this sucker downloading plus installing various programs, plus running torrents, while grabbing from my external, and it didn't bat an eyelash. No lag. I love you, i7 processor! ♥♥
What I'm not happy about though, already, is the HP call centers. I'm having issues registering my extended warranty (since I gave in and didn't go with Geek Squad) so I call the 1800 line. Outsourced to India, which I can put up with, if they actually knew what they were doing! I talked to 5 different people, 3 of which, transferred me to a department that wasn't open, 2 of which I told them not to transfer me, but to help me, because online, it says THAT'S the department I should be speaking with. The other two I eventually hung up on because their English understanding was horrendous and couldn't understand what I was asking.
Almost an hour later and it still not registered and I want to kill these people! Office Depot was pretty damn shitty, but at least they were in the US and they could understand what I was asking. It just usually wasn't in their power to do what I wanted.
So since that department is closed, I'm gonna have to try again, not tomorrow, but the next day, since I work and go to school, I HAVE NO TIME during "regular business hours". Bite me
Still in love with my lappie though, even though it was assembled in China (like everything else in the US) ^^;
And then people wonder why the fuck we have so many people out of work here. If we could at least bring ALL the call center jobs back over, that would help TREMENDOUSLY! I'm not against some of our call centers being out there. I've talked to various people in Singapore or India that were nice and went above and beyond, but seriously the Quality Assurance people just AREN'T doing their jobs with most of them, fuck.
wtf,
