Sherlock Holmes Reading Challenge

Jan 10, 2016 13:25

A few years back, noticing a deficiency in my reading history, I set myself to reading all of the original Sherlock Holmes short stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. I made it through the first two collections and then fell off. This year, I'm resetting myself the challenge, but also including all of the original Doyle novels. I may or may not reread the stories and novels I've already read, so for now I will indicate those here in italics, with links to any reviews of them I may have written in the past.

Listing in the order they appear in Barnes & Noble's The Complete Sherlock Holmes Volumes I and II:

A Study in Scarlet (novel)
The SIgn of the Four (novel)
The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes (story collection)
The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes (story collection)
The Hound of the Baskervilles (novel) (read in elementary school; will likely reread this year)

The Return of Sherlock Holmes (story collection)
The Valley of Fear (novel)
His Last Bow (story collection)
The Casebook of Sherlock Holmes (story collection)

Two Parodies by Arthur Conan Doyle
    A. Field Bazaar
    B. How Watson Learned The Trick

Two Essays by Arthur Conan Doyle
  A. The Truth about Sherlock Holmes
  B. Some Personalia about Mister Sherlock Holmes
