Writer's Block: I Can Relate

Tough one, but I'm too intrigued not to answer.

Answering honestly -- Jamie Gangel from Jonathan Harvey's play "Beautiful Thing," played in the film version by Glen Berry.  Although I did not grow up in London with a single mom who manages a pub, Jamie has most of the personality traits I had as a closeted gay teenager with a crush on the boy next door.  He hates gym class, knows more movie musical trivia than anyone else in the neighborhood, stuggles with his crush and how to tell his Mum he's gay.  In real life, the boy next door never fell for me the way Ste falls for Jamie, but that's okay.
