I'm looking for a boy, seventeen years of age, bleached blond hair, blue eyes.  His name is Tidus.  If anyone finds him, tell me.

Two Sins...  Who would've thought?

Ha...! Are we not all slaves to sin in one way or another?

In some way, I suppose, but that was not what I meant.

Well sure. This place has the luck of seeing sin embodied... if you want to think about it that way, heh.

Are you a new traveler on these desolate streets?

So it is here...

You could say that. This is not where I planned to end up.

I didn't plan to stay here either... though as I understand it, some took very long trips through time and space to get here. I suppose I'm lucky enough to come from this world... roughly.

It would seem we are both looking for wayward souls.

I would be one of those who moved worlds, then.

You search as well?

Yes... I search for she who is hardest to seek and capture-- the goddess of long lost love. And you?

For my friend's son.

I see. Well, the best of luck to my fellow wanderer, then.

And upon meeting such a wanderer, always ask his name and occupation. That's one of my rules.

Auron. Former guardian. I doubt the second will mean much.

Ha...!

We really are in the same boat. They call me Godot... and I used to be a guardian of sorts myself. Though my days of prestige have faded and now I remain a mere shadow.

A guardian as well? Somehow I think your profession lies more in the realm of metaphor than mine. Care to elaborate?

I was an attorney, defender of the wrongfully accused, the glancer of the blows of seemingly impenetrable evidence. But that man is dead now.

Any reason?

Death spares no man, amigo. He takes what he wants and we are left to survive with what little we can keep. Even the proudest guardian is no match for his cold touch, heedless to ignore his whim... that's why.

...Hm. The only thing unchanging?
