I'm looking for a boy, seventeen years of age, bleached blond hair, blue eyes.  His name is Tidus.  If anyone finds him, tell me.

Two Sins...  Who would've thought?

Adultery and murder. But there are many more.

That isn't what I meant.

Then what did you mean? Or are those not sins, in your understanding of the world?

Those are sins, but they are not Sin. Sin would be something closer to the beast said to be roaming this city.

...I had heard of no beast. I hear the small ones constantly, but nothing larger than those.

Somehow I think something so small would be able to cause destruction on this scale. But I compare them to Sinscales. So far I only have hearsay.

I see. Although...you would be surprised what comes out of a horde of small creatures...

I've seen what a large group of small creatures can do. Destroy a village, destroy an army... But I have only seen destruction such as this from one thing.

In my worlds there too are monsters the size of mountains, and they too destroy many things. But the hordes of little ones, fighting and breeding and feeding...I have seen them rip out the hearts of worlds.

It wouldn't surprise me if that had happened here.

A possibility. I've not seen any of those on Spira. A description?

They take many shapes, from both their natural evolution and the designs of people intent on using them as weapons. But, their basic form--the one you would see first--is this: child-sized, an oversized round head with no visible mouth and wriggling antenna. They can crawl on all fours or on two legs or on their arms as they like, and are colored pitch black. They have claws on their arms, and circular yellow eyes that never blink. As for their mutated forms, look for these yellow eyes. I have never one that didn't have them.

We call them Heartless.

Those I have not seen, but I will watch for them. Any ones of them with elemental weaknesses?

There are at least a score with various magical weaknesses and immunities. But almost all of them will fall to a sturdy weapon.

Oh, and about your friend--Haven't seen or heard of anyone like that.
