Summertime Fantasies
I've decided what I want if the Happiness Fairy pays me a visit anytime soon. I want to go to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk with Gojyo. This has got to be the perfect recipe for madcap fun and excitement. Gojyo would love many of the more freaky and gravity-defying rides, such as Crazy Surf and the one that's just like the Jolly Monster ride at Magic Mountain but the Boardwalk name is something else.
Gojyo would probably be great at the games, too. Anybody who could handle the shakujo that well and slice and dice youkai would have an easy time with slamming the mallet down and lighting up the top light on the totem pole. We'd end up needing a U-Haul truck to cart off all the prizes Gojyo could win. Shooting baskets with basketballs, throwing darts, anything that required strength and precision.... Oh yeah.
Can't think of anything sweeter than walking along the beach hand-in-hand with my favorite hanyo as the sun goes down and the lights come up all along the Boardwalk. I love the lights. All different colors, flashing and streaming and whirling around as the rides go up and down.... We could walk out on the wharf and listen to the elephant seals bark at each other while the sea otters and the pelicans hang out hoping for snacks from the tourists.
Sigh.... What I really really want is to be able to see the live Saiyuki stage show that was running in Tokyo for a while. Maybe I'll get lucky when I'm in Yokohama next year, and I'll get to catch some kind of Saiyuki-related entertainment.
