So, I work in HR. In essence, a large part of my job has to do with interviewing and hiring people for jobs. So the whole interview process, really not a big mystery nor a big stress for me. This job I was interviewing for today, not really my perfect I-will-just-die-if-I-don't-get-it dream job.
But here I was, nervous as hell about the interview... all stressed and sick with anxiety over it. So bad my wife was trying to talk me down this morning.
I can't explain why, I just had a really bad feeling about it.
Maybe now I have a clue why...
It is never a good sign to pull into a parking lot at the company you are about to have an interview at just as an ambulance is pulling out, lights on but no sirens.
But I put the thought aside and went inside. I told the receptionist my name and who I had an appointment with. Only to be told that he had just left in the ambulance... victim of a presumed heart attack. Yikes!
So, after a game of in house shuffle, I interviewed with someone else from the same department... only to have *that* interview interrupted... by a fire alarm. Yeah, more emergency vehicles... mostly fire trucks this time!
Let me share, standing around in a parking lot on late June afternoon while waiting for Fire to give the all clear, not the best surroundings for an interview. Really.
Eventually we were let back inside and the interview finished. Not my best showing, but better then it had any right to be, under the circumstances.
Mostly I was just glad to leave before anything else bad happened. Really.
So, now I am home, trying to compose a post-interview report for my recruiter... this should make her Monday morning. :)
So, how was *your* day?!
