Author's Note: This is by far the easiest, shortest, and fastest fic I have ever written. The hardest part was trimming to 100 words. ^.^
Enjolras sighed. "Why? Everything was arranged perfectly. Lamarque passed, we rallied, and yet, no one came. We battled and died in the streets, and now, a wedding?"
Grantaire hid a smile.
"Our men, gone. Our dream is lost. Where did it go wrong?" Wrinkles of thought creased his porcelain visage.
"Perhaps the masses weren't ready to be ruled by young aristocrats," Grantaire mumbled.
"An 'I told you so' would have sufficed." Enjolras studied his dark-haired friend. "But you could have lived. Why did you stand?"
"Do you have to ask?" came the sober reply. "I wanted to be with you."
