I must admit, the offer of drinks does sound very good at the moment.

[Since he's yet to wake up from whatever sort of dream this is. Granted he knows it isn't, but thinking it is sometimes helps to ease how insane he feels when he can rightly say he's spoken to zombies.]

That's what I was thinking.

[Paulie grins boyishly.]

You must not have been here long yet, I don't recognize you. Paul Knight - but everyone just calls me "Paulie".

Though I must ask, are the drinks free? I have no form of payment here, since I'm new and all. Though I certainly plan on finding something to do while I'm here eventually.

You would be correct. Charles Xavier, a pleasure, Paulie. [He only hesitates a second before using the nickname. He thought Paul was fine, but if Paulie worked then why not?]

So you're a long standing resident of New Ashford?

Just like everything else - yeah. I know it's a pretty new concept for a lot of you new people...but New Ashford runs a lot like a commune. The only kind of buying and trading that goes on here is for extra things. Everything essential is just...pooled together and split up as fairly as we can make it.

[He grins.]

And drinks at a party are pretty essential, right?

[Paul nods solemnly to Charles' last question.]

As long as it's been here. New Ashford was just established six months ago, actually, when we found the old city would be good for reclamation.

I'm sure that must be difficult to accomplish at times. But if it has been working so far, I'm hardly one to suggest otherwise. [At least for now.]

That is a given, my friend.

[And he'll grin.]

... only six months ago? So do the people here move along as needed, depending on the spread of the... um, undead? [Zombies just felt so strange to say. Though honestly he had to wonder what was more politically correct. Zombie or undead?]
