It's been the week from hell. Work has been nuts; attorneys having to file things with the Supreme Court, the Eighth Circuit, the Court of Appeals. It's been crazy. TGIF!!!
Now that we have decided to buy a new car and sell the Beetle, of course something decided to go wrong. It started making a noise in the front end. So we took to Firestone and they said the right front wheel bearing is going bad. The the problem is that there is a special tool needed to get the hub off and they don't have one. So tonight we have to pick the car up from Firestone and take it to VW so we can get it fixed. I think the hubby jinxed us when he said "Now that we are getting a new car, I bet something will happen to the Bug." He jinxed it!
Our weekends have been busy helping a friend finish remodeling in her new townhouse and then moving her in. She insisted on giving us something for helping. We told her it wasn't necessary; that's what friends are for. She gave us something anyway. We got a $300 gift card from Lowes and $500 cash. I just about fainted. We argued with her about it but she was insistent that we take the money. We eventually gave in. I put the money to good use; I bought a vanity for my bathroom. Now you have to understand that our bathroom is a little over 4 feet wide from the tub to the wall. Someone is finally making a euro-style vanity that is only 12 inches deep and the sink sticks out in the appropriate place. The only bad part is that we have to wait 2 to 3 weeks to get it. It's a special order. In the meantime, we have to get new flooring for the bathroom; install the flooring; install the new toilet and wait for the vanity.
This weekend I'm hoping to get a start on more landscaping and gardening; we are going over to the hubby's parents' to rototill the back garden for his dad. I may have the hubby keep the tiller until next weekend so I can get the part of my front yard done so I can landscape and plant. I have a bunch of plants and dirt that need to be moved; I can't wait to get my hands dirty.
I may also be babysitting my parents' dog. There was a death in the family and the funeral will be in Hinckley. They may stay up there for the whole weekend instead of driving back and forth. Pal is the cutest dog; he's part Poodle and Bichon. He has loads of personality and is just a joy to have around. It will be weird having a pet in the house again. It's been a year since the last pet left us.
Well, I suppose I should try to get caught up on some stuff that has been neglected for the past two weeks.
