I have been personally victimized by Tamsyn Muir but I'm okay with that.
I know that some people are mad about the ending. I respect that! I think there are valid points to be made there!
Personally -- speaking only for myself, speaking not at all to larger questions of politics and representation -- I was in the mood to have a book murder me emotionally, so I'm fine, I'm good.
(Also, necromancy, so I'm not actually that pessimistic about the permanency of death.)
(But really, I'm split on whether I want everything to be as sunshine and roses as possible by the third book, or whether I want the second and third books to also murder me emotionally.)
