Hello!

I am feeling SICK. This is a first in some time. I'm guessing it's a by-product of judo. As all things in my life are currently. But standing around in -21 weather while you're sweating probably isn't helping matters.

Anyway, I've got a bit of a sinus thing going from the back of my throat. Little tingle there, I bet I'm feeling pretty shitty by Monday. I'm gonna give the ol' immune system a jump start and see if I can't make it dance and prance.

You may ask how my day has been! Not too bad! My bitching has borne fruit! We got a new washing machine for the house. Unfortunately the company that brought it didn't bother to hook it up. So no laundry-doing for me.

I sent off my forms for my study visa Friday. If I didn't mention that. It was fairly uneventful. Which is why I didn't mention it. It's done though, so that's one less thing for me to worry about. Now I just have to worry about being accepted into college and not being deported.

Look at this, 4 paragraphs in and I haven't talked about Judo! But now I will. I had judo today! Another reason I feel like shit. I was tossed about 5-6 times. Good throws, like over someone's back and onto the mats. It's gonna take some time to get used to that, and to not dread it. Won't be anytime soon. My head hurts something fierce.

I was learning chokes again, namely the sliding collar choke. And let me tell you, you want to get that right as soon as possible. Otherwise, you will be 'shown' it many many times. "See, you were choking me like this *choke* what you want to do is grab farther up like this *choooooke* and then you can get your leg over the shoulder and push down like this *chooooooooooooooke*." And rinse and repeat. I actually have marks on my shoulder from where his hand was for choking me. Fun Fun. I'm getting the hang of it anyway. Or so I'm told.

I'm not getting the hang of doing throws at all though. I imagine that will come eventually. It is pretty tough to do. During free practice I was working on throws and I had a grip on his gi, and since we were not doing 'all out' practice I was not thinking too much about it. We were supposed to just be doing entries, or in otherwords, going through throwing motions to throw, but no actual throwing. So anyway, I get my grips on his gi and am working for something and all of a sudden he moves back and RIPS his gi away really hard. Granted I should've been ready for this, but I most definitely was not. I didn't think much of it, it hurt a little. Then after I finished up I went off to the side and realized "Hey, he bent my finger nail back" and it was bleeding pretty good, too. Don't worry, it's not gross looking, I have strong cuticles. It just has a good stress mark where it began to seperate! Anyway, that wasn't too fun! Honestly, after every practice my fingers hurt more and more. Running water over them hurts. Typing hurts, etc. etc. That'll probably keep up for awhile.

After practice sensei says "We need help moving a few things if anyone can stick around". I figure I don't have anything better to do, I can help move a couple of things before I leave. So after my hour and a half practice, I end up spending another hour and a half moving practically an entire gym from one room to another. I actually left before they finished, as I was beginning to feel my arms moving further and further away from my shoulders. Quite exhausting. But it was fun, I was actually pretty tired after class for the first time in awhile. Plus think of the bulging biceps I'll have to show for it!

After that I kind of waddled home and I've made a day out of sitting in bed and feeling hurt. I'm gonna go grab some Tylenol Cold and Sinus come tomorrow it looks like. My immune system has ONE NIGHT to save me the trouble.

Alight, it's 2 AM, I gotta try and sleep, this going to bed at 3 AM stuff is for the birds!
