(no subject)
yay! greetings from new york :) here's a runndown on everything i've done so far:
so sunday night i went to long beach to catch my plane. while brenda and i were waiting in the terminal at long beach, all of a sudden i hear someone yell "lauren!" and i'm like ??? it was jeff zimmerman from high school! i haven't seen him in forever. he was flying jet blue to boston to go back to school. so we talked for a little while, then we had to board.
i got to new york and the first day (monday) it was pouring. we went to downtown (wall street) for a little while, hit up century 21, went to the trinity church, all that stuff. but it was pouring so we headed back pretty early. we're staying here in brooklyn in peter's apartment which is super super cute. then on tuesday we went to the lower east side and soho. we ate in moby's resturant which is a vegetarian paradise. :) i bought a ton of clothes while i was there. we've also gone to like four h+m's. last night we went to times square which is always fun.
then today we went to central park and the upper east side. ahhh this area is sooo pretty. then we went down to soho for a little while but i got a little *ahem* sick so we headed back to the apartment. but we did manage to go shopping in bloomingdales see tiffany's and eat at serendipity. ohh yeah, and while standing on some street corner i hear someone say "hey those girls are from ucla!" and this girl from my floor last year was standing right there. how random is that? later we might walk across the brooklyn bridge to look at the city lights. tomorrow is dedicated to midtown, tribeca and (of course) soho.
in non-travel related news, i decided to drop my latin class for next quarter, so i'm only taking 14 units. but i think the break is more than due because i'm a year ahead in my studies and i'm tired. so on tuesday's next quarter i don't have class until 2 in the afternoon! yay. :)
