Man... Just... There's this person who claims to be Zachary Quinto who's address I got ahold of through someone on the SArmy forums who goes by Sylar313, who apparently agreed to meet this "Zachary" at the Heroes season premiere. There was surprisingly little fanfare over this address being posted (it was the most unlikely address ever, by the way), and I was wary to add it because I didn't like the whole thing, so I PM'd fellow member Clarion, who was also suspicious and was in the process of emailing them to make sure that they weren't a predator, with the rationale that the real ZQ would definitely respond to such an email, which I agreed with.

Then today, I saw that fellow member D-S was talking about speaking on MSN with this person, and I decided that I had nothing to lose by adding them to my contact list; I figured that probably they were a fake, but there was the possibility they weren't. Soon enough they came online, and messaged me asking who I was, and we talked for a while.

Just... Jeez. If you're going to impersonate a famous actor to one of their zealous fans, at least try to be convincing, y'know? They raised about 10x1023 red flags while I was talking to them--the first was even just as they logged on, when they're "footnote" thing said "I'm missing [Sylar313's real name]:(," and then later when they talked about Sylar313 specifically attending the premiere of Heroes--since ZQ doesn't have any other friends, of course. Just... There are so many red flags I don't really feel like describing them here. I mean, there were ten moles of red flags. That's a lot; more than any person should have to relate.

But the clincher? That they claimed to have "probably been" to Eclipse, even though ZQ has never been to an English convention. There was more after that, where I cheerfully talked about UK-specific convention stuff and they gave me evasive one- to two-word answers, attempted to distract me several times, then had only "ok w/e" to say when I finally clued them in to the fact that ZQ had cancelled two months before that event and that he definitely was there. They then made a hasty escape (as well as raising another mole of red flags along the way).

Anyways, yes, very disappointed in this person; I messaged my most trusted SArmy moderator and communed with Clarion (who never got a reply to her concerned email) a bit more on the subject, and she's handling her own aspects of the subject. I'm not speaking to this person further unless I absolutely have to; there's just no point. Plus they've probably blocked me, since they figured out I was on to them, which is okay because I blocked them too.

But in good news! =D I went to Noah's Ark today, got wet, et cetera, had Dippin' Dots for the sake of the SArmy members in the UK who'd never heard of them before recently, had lots of Starbucks coffee, got Season 2 of Heroes, and went to the Outback, where I had yummy cream broccoli soup and delicious steak. Also yesterday I got a bunch of interesting-looking free textbooks, including one with scientifically accurate drawings of dinosaur skeletons, which could help for art purposes (plus, dude, dinosaurs!).
