I know this is pretty late since the concert ended a couple of weeks ago, but I still can’t help but feel elated whenever I think about this concert, mainly because it’s the first HSJ Concert that I have watched. Sure it’s only online and perhaps its not really live-live per se but this was still a once in a lifetime opportunity that I had to grab. I mean, what are the chances that I could go overseas and watch them perform live with the availability and moolah I would need to make it possible.
Contrary to the other girls in the fandom who probably made concert reports, I won’t be doing that since I don’t know how LOL. So I’ll just share my thoughts and verbalize my love for our 9 soldiers. Sad to say that after the concert, Keito will no longer be part of the group as he would be fulfilling a career as an actor. We wish you all the best Keito.
It took me a while to decide if I was going to watch the concert or if I was just going to wait for the DVD (and buy that instead so I can watch it over and over), mainly because of financial issues. I am new to the fandom and I still have no idea how these things work , what to buy, where to spend my money on etc. I also spent a significant amount of money on buying previous concert goods and also placed an order for this concert’s goods.
It wasn’t until I saw the teaser they dropped on YT that I decided that it was time to login and purchase the tickets. So I did and it was a good decision that I did. I’m glad I did not let my stinginess win. I allowed my ID to take over and before I knew it, I was setting up our living room so I can fully enjoy the concert comfortably and without distractions. I even thought of cooking snacks and drinking while watching the concert but then I realized that might make me want to “chotto toire” so I scratched that thought. Unlike DVDs where you can hit pause, I wont be able to pause this one so I made sure I didn’t drink any liquids at least an hour before LOL
As advised, I logged in an hour before the scheduled concert and what surprised me was the waiting screen with the instrumental version of the songs from the live album being played in the background. This gave me a new appreciation of the instrumental version of the songs in their singles. It’s funny how EDM-ish the other songs sounded. But I think that’s the reason why I liked it in the first place.
I was singing to the music and jumping up and down like a little kid. Then the screen went blue signaling that it should start soon as soon as it it, I screamed once more and this is when I realized that I may have shifted my main fandom. I love Arashi and it will always be part of my childhood, but I suppose I could relate to HSJ more. I dunno, but these boys are just so adorable or maybe my taste changed. I think that’s more likely.
Usually concerts begin with the most lively songs but Style S was more mellow. The boys sang as Inoo-chan played the piano. So this is what he was practicing for. I thought it was for jump band. It’s so sweet and relaxing. I love the songs they chose for their opening. Especially that version of White Love. That song is amongst my favorites and to me its like a serenade I usually day dream about. And don’t get me started on those costumes, they look like princes out of a fairytale. I just don’t get what that clip like thing was on Hikaru’s hair. To get us really hyped up, they placed the vtr after a few performances and might I say that is the best intro vtr (I don’t know what it’’s called) I’ve watched amongst all of their concerts. It like a hottie version of book characters on parade XD
We have Yama as the tempting Little Red Riding Hood, Yuto as a Captain Hook you’d willingly be taken by, Yuri as a hauntingly beautiful version of Pinocchio. I don’t think anyone could’ve pulled off Son Goku better than Daiki. Our tall guys Yabu and Yuma both looking so mesmerizing as Aladdin and Prince Charming respectively. Kei was also the perfect mermaid, looking so stunningly beautiful in his crop top XD Of course my ichiban Hikaru looked so stunning as the heartless tin man.
I don’t know if it’s just me or if there were so much shots of their crotch area hahaha talk about fan service.
