1ST ONE

SixTONES recently released their first album, and like the rest of the groups fans, I was ecstatic. I’m just a new fan and don’t know much about their jr days - but still glad that I was able to stan them at the beginning of their career - because that way I wont be backtracking so much - then again - given that it has taken them so long to debut - indeed there are a lot of material to catch up on.

Going back to the topic at hand, I looked forward to listening to this album because I know it will be as awesome if not better than their already released singles.

I already finished listening to the whole album - but did not give 100% attention because I have ADD and its very difficult for me to focus on doing just once task at a time - I listened to it while working on admin stuff for my job.

First up, I’m glad that they included some of their songs from their Jr days such as RAM PAM PAM, Laugh in the life, Be Crazy, Kono Hitoshi No HIKARI, and Rollin’  as well as their already released singles - Imitation Rain, New Era and Navigator.

The songs from the pairings were also wonderful - I liked Extra VIP the best because it was lively and boasted extra charm - especially since it features my ichiban Juri and niban Jesse. Actually I like all of them so the rest of the group is my niban XD. My Hometown by Shin and Yugo was charming too and had a relaxing/nostalgic feel to it. Then there’s Tte Anata by Hokuto and Taiga which gave off the same sensuous and heart wrenching feel as its music video.

My favorite from the album would have to be Special Order cause it sounds so upbeat like a bar song lol. I’m sorry I can’t share much about the meaning of the songs because I’m not a native speaker of Nihonggo. As for the other songs that caught my attention would be - S.I.X. Had a similar feel to Special Order. Mad Love sounds like a sex song - but since their gimmick is being provocative and sensual then this just fits the bill. I also liked Dance All Night because it was predominantly english. Curtain Call was refreshing to listen to. Lifetime was a good song but it seemed like a sappy love song - the bitter me had difficulty getting through it. ST is good too of course. Telephone was also included. Uyamuya and Coffee & Cream had their own charm.

I like listening to SixTONES because they have such distinct voices that you can tell apart who is singing but still blend well together. Looking forward to more releases from them.
