I think you got the awkwardness and the slow progression and pace especially well. It wasn't too drawn out, but I could really feel Harry's worries, the way he really wanted and tried to get to the point but couldn't.
Harry, actually, was just awesome in this! I loved his insecurities, and especially the way he had everything so idealistically sketched out in his mind and fell apart a little bit when plans fell through. Harry had no idea what he meant to say to her, but it was something like but I planned a whole conversation first or I thought I wasn't allowed to do that anymore or It was supposed to be me kissing you. --> This line captures Harry's state of mind perfectly, I think. I loved how he's a complete hopeless romantic in this, too. I just wanted to squish him. Ginny was perfectly characterized in this, too. I love her taking charge and just going for it while Harry flutters about. They're just perfect for each other that way. ♥
I really liked the writing style and the flow of it, especially. Your description of tahe cobblestones, of the night in general, is very awesome. And I also really enjoyed the allusions to Quidditch and Seeking, in particular, in regards to their lives.
But it hadn't been the beginning of anything; those kisses were only moments that would soon pass away, leaving Harry alone again and still seeking. --> This is just.. Gah, I love this line. The double meaning on the word seeking, and the angst of it all that's kind of bitter sweet and not over the top. It's lovely!
That one day he'd reach out for Ginny, and like an elusive snitch suddenly revealed, she'd be there. --> This was an especially favourable line for me in regards to angst. It was just so sweet and sad and at the same time kind of hopeful, because my mind went to the fact that Harry was Seeker and always eventually spotted and caught the Snitch. :)
All in all, I loved this gift! It was everything I wanted, aside from being the first Harry/Ginny fic I've actually read. :)
Thank you so much! ♥

At first I was working on a different idea, and it was really difficult to make all the pieces fit... but when this popped into my mind everything came together perfectly and things were just jumping out of your request at me.
And yay, Quidditch metaphors! I'm kind of obsessed with Quidditch, but it's okay (I tell myself it's okay) because Harry and Ginny are, too. :D
