Not fond of Best Buy right now

So I got a 360 just over a week ago.

On it's 1 week anniversary at home with me, Saturday, I think that I should exchange my game pad for another.  Pressing 'down' on the dpad isn't as responsive as it could be.

But what does Best Buy tell me?  I have to return MY ENTIRE 360 SYSTEM just to get a new game pad.

What kind of B.S. is that?  I've already ( Read more... )

Yeah, it's just the dpad doesn't press 'down' as well as it could.

We think on the same wavelength...

I spoke to the supervisor at the "customer service" desk
I spoke to the store manager as well
I called Best Buy support, while sitting in the gaming section on my cell phone
They told me the same thing
I spoke to a supervisor
THEY told me the same thing
I spoke to someone at GameStop, as I went there to pre-order Halo 3, and they said that's nuts. They would have exchanged the pad (The only reason I didn't buy there was they were closed when I was coming home itching to bring a 360 up with me)

My next step is Microsoft. From what I understand, they won't reimburse your purchases, but will make you have to be logged into live to play it. I have a friend who had to do that, and he's a "reader" of my blog, so he might have some insight. I'm wondering if I deleted the game, and redownloaded it on my new Xbox (should I ever get one), if that would allow me to play it normally. Maybe MS will just exchange my game pad for me.

I really don't want to exchange a perfectly working 360. It takes 20 min to get to the store, plus unhooking it and boxing it all back up, is a lot of time, and I can only do this on the weekends anyway.

I still have to complain and say how much I hate Best Buy for making their customers jump through hoops to get simple stuff done.

(Sorry for two replies ... I had to delete my last reply and make a new one to edit some mistakes.)
