O, goodness, I have had the most amazing meal with
telekine at
The Black Hoof. I have finally gotten a pony for my birthday and it was delicious.
Vegetarians, you may want to turn away now, because I am going to describe what we ate.
The starter was their charcuterie board with duck liver mousse, a caribou sausage, an amazing walnut and something pâté, smoked summer sausage, prosciutto, and my favourite, a horse mortadella.
Then we split a sashimi dish -- some sort of pale fish that tasted like tuna on a bed of roasted kale with a quince sauce dyed pitch black with ink -- and a set of croustini with duck heart tartare and foie gras.
Desert was a carrot cake (I know, I had doubts too, but it was as spectacular and well spiced as the rest of the meal) with pralines and a homemade cinnamon-cardamom ice cream.
