MIRRORS

Sometimes I feel so sad.  I'm just a lost and lonely child
searching for love....
Finding it in all the wrong places at the wrong times;
feeling no one cares, but knowing it's not so;
Longing for one who'll love me for myself.
Not in spite of myself.

Where can I go to find it?
I look in people's faces,
and see my own face mirrored;
they're lost and lonely too
we're all searching...

Bound in common cause by loss, by grief
and by despair.
All my lost and lonely strangers -
Friends I haven't met -
"You can complete me;
I'll complete you."
