Deja Vu

Dec 12, 2007 22:20

Its been a while since I added to the 'Many Faces of Love' poem series.  I hope you enjoy it.

You can find the others in the 'Faces of Love' series, as well as the 'Zodiac', and 'Long Search' in my Memories.

Deja Vu

What's the definition of premonition?
Deja vu?  I knew I'd lose you?

While trying not to hear the
voice of fear whispering your name,
I heard it just the same;
"He'll slip away", said fear
beside my ear.

Somehow I knew, walking the beach
with you, writing in the sand, climbing
the rocks, and hearing you laugh at my
attempts to photograph you against
the sky.  You didn't know that I knew
this would be our last enchanted time;
we'd be each others past.

I had just a flash of deja vu that soon
I'd lose you.  And the voice of fear
rang triumphant, loud and clear.
