Right, so, that was strange. I've only just really remembered speaking to the Admiral, coming here for the first time...and I was really only gone for a few days? Because I was back in Camelot for ages, and I didn't remember the Barge at all...does this sort of thing happen a lot? I hope not. I really don't want to be messed around like that ( Read more... )

You've my sympathy. That kind of thing happens to me a lot.

Not here on the Barge, at least not yet, but all too often I've turned up somewhere with no memory of having been there before while surrounded by people who seem to know everything about what I've been up to. And no, one never does quite get used to it.

I'll just have to hope it doesn't happen again, then. Between the Barge and Camelot, it was like I was living those few months in different places at the same time.

Sounds like a classic trans-temporal-dimensional anomaly. (That's to say, a disruption that occurs across multiple times and universes.) Frankly, I'm surprised that sort of thing doesn't happen all the time around here. The Barge is practically a travelling instability.

It never really seems stable what with the floods and everything. And, uh, thanks for defining that.

Did you get affected by the most recent one? And you're welcome; I'm trying to get better about remembering that not everyone has the same temporal background as I do.

No, I didn't. Which was probably for the best, I don't know if any of the people who might've replaced me would like it here.

Does anyone really like it here?

But I take your point. I think my replacement had a bit too much fun, actually. Though it could have been worse.

Well. I quite like it. I actually like it a bit more now I know everyone back home doesn't think I vanished for weeks on end.

Sounds like you're adjusting very well indeed.

Well. Yeah. There's nothing here that happens which is much stranger than the things that happen at home. And not living in fear of execution for doing magic is really nice.
