state of the union meme
Okay, let's use this journal, why not. I am slowly getting back into playing yet again. tl;dr, I have a lot of magical dental work that needs to be done and will be taken care of over the course of the next few weeks. This means I will actually be in bed and curled up with my laptop! And hopefully playing. So. Doin' a state of the union meme to get my thoughts in order et all.
ROBERT HAYDN
IC: Really, really bad. He won't let people know it, though, although anyone who's observant can probably tell. Peter leaving was a bit of a blow, but something he expected and could deal with. Roy leaving makes it even harder, though. Basically, the two people that know the most about Robert are gone! Aaaaand Inumaru is now here, which complicates matters but actually helps in some ways. Since Robert knows that it ALL ENDS WELL and Inumaru is still suspicious of him (thank youuu, canon points), he sees absolutely nothing wrong with antagonizing him a little bit. It's totally harmless! And a great stress relief.
OOC: I contemplated dropping Robert for five seconds after Roy dropped and then went "lol no." My baby. I love Robert to pieces, although I feel a little insecure at times due to the fact that I've played him for nearly four years altogether, which means he has grown a hell of a lot and is still, uh, growing.
But really, all of this stuff happening at once for Robert is a good thing in terms of playing him. He was getting complacent! It's nice to have conflict and people who are leery of him, and he's not exactly compelled to behave himself entirely. Sano being here and remembering means that Robert will keep his nose sort of clean. I think that he will probably slowly build up a group of people he can sort of trust at some point because that's just how he rolls and who knows what will happen then, but for now, it's fine.
Because of the above though, my biggest goal with Robert is to have him tag a bunch of the people he threaded with here and there over the past few months. I really want to post with him - I have a post idea and everything - but I'm just waiting for my laptop to come back. :x eta: computer repair idiots screwed that up! It may be another week! SO UH! If you want me to tag you with Robert or you want to jump me, please tell me because I would be super happy and. Yes. /o/;;
JANUS CASCADE
IC: Annoyed, to say the least. He deaged for a bit and has been laying low after that. Camp messed with him quite a bit in January as well - some of his relationships are fairly strained. Add to that the fact that he just hasn't gotten around to doing that one job for Byakuran for a number of reasons (Byakuran's a creeper, he's slowly working on Tsuna to get at him more easily, etc etc), and it's all just a little annoying.
OOC: Janus has been backburnering for the past month because I played him heavily at the beginning of the year. I'm actually feeling okay with him! I need to pull him out and hit up the people he has CR with pretty soon, but I'm pretty comfortable with just playing him in spurts due to the whole nature of his character. And I had a thread with Yuujirou recently and it was awesome and I feel chill with him again. Rockin'.
IF YOU ARE A VILLAIN / QUASI-EVIL-OR-WHATEVER AND WANT SOMEONE TO DO SHIT FOR YOU, JANUS IS YOUR MAN! I need to have him do more stupid stuff soon.
MILES EDGEWORTH
IC: :| <-- the best way to describe it. Edgeworth is annoyed that he's stuck in camp again, but a part of him is seeing it as an opportunity to pick back up a case that he never managed to really figure out. He's determined to find the truth in the matter behind the Debussey murder case! And all the developments with Masque are insanely intriguing to him. So even though he's stuck again and there isn't really anyone in camp that he knows well - aside from sort of knowing Dee from the last time he was in camp and being from the same world as Klavier - it's still an opportunity to do what he does best.
But Kay, Trucy, and Franziska are in camp, and he has mixed feelings. Franziska is actually a good thing; for all she beats him and is Franziska and whatnot, she is damn good at what she does and Edgeworth has no doubt that once she gets over the shock of camp being ... well, camp, that she'll be beneficial to the investigation. Kay and Trucy are a little more concerning. Camp is a dangerous place! And he can't do much about that! So it's a sort of disconcerting and the like.
OOC: He has been my primary for the past month and I actually don't feel burnt out on him. I think my problem with him the last time was that, honestly, I had too many characters and didn't devote enough time to him. Cutting back and then reapping him has been insanely beneficial for him, because I'm able to focus more on him and his relationships and yes. The other problem I had last time was that I felt really shakey about some headcanon-type stuff. I wasn't sure about things like how he'd interact with other people (read: quasi-normal people who possess actual common sense) or anything! And then the new game gave me everything I wanted to know. I think the one difference between the new game and the older ones is that Edgeworth doesn't spit out one-liners like "Mm" anymore, which suits me just fine because now threading off of other people isn't like pulling teeth. harrharr.
Also there's a bunch of people that I've wanted to play with forever but just haven't and with Edgeworth, I now have a character I can bounce off of them and it makes me so happy. You have no idea. I've actually e-mailed people going "HI HI CAN WE PLAY SOMETIME" and I seriously hope people tell me to gtfo if I'm bothering them. ._.d I need to update the organizer post in his journal; that was another thing I was going to do over spring break and just didn't get to.
tl;dr, I love the three characters that I have and want to play them everywhere once I am healthy again. My plan for spring break was to be around and play a lot and then life occurred and that sucked. However, this is my last quarter and I've actually already completed my graduation requirements, so I will not be, uh, caring as much this time around. And I just found out that one of my classes is significantly shorter than I thought it would be, which is even better. I really want to build up CR again! This may be a challenge since I play terribly anti-social characters, but what the hell!
The three that I have are also "lol no" in terms of dropping. With Janus, it will happen one day, possibly around his year mark, but I'm quite content with him for now. Edgeworth is basically one of my favorite characters ever. Every time I review his canon, I sort of fall in love all over again. And Robert is ... Robert. I just need to get back into the groove with him.
