Arthur sits on a nearby rock while Gwen dances along the edge of the river, her feet splashing through the bit of the water that mixes with earth. It dirties her toes and ankles but she doesn't seem to mind, clutching her dress in her hands while she twirls and laughs. A damp breeze filters by, through her hair, lifts the strands towards the sky and he's never seen a creature like her.

It's almost pitch black out, but he can clearly see her long, thin silhouette against the dark sky lit by the bit of moonlight that reflects off the length of her neck, her wet knees. Even her eyes seem to shine as the water catches her dancing form in it's watery mirror. He smiles, tossing the bit of grass he had been ripping apart to the ground before standing and making his way over to her.

She looks at him through lidded eyes and kicks water his way while she laughs, not giggles, low in her throat like she's teasing him, goading him to come retaliate. He raises an eyebrow and speeds up, grabbing her by the waist as she yelps and tosses her arms around his shoulders before she can fall. Not that he'd let her fall, of course.

She's breathless as she presses her forehead to his, staring into his eyes. He can smell the deep, strong scent of the river mixed with her own soft musk, something he never gets sick of pushing his nose into her neck and breathing in, deep. It's funny to him, how she can be so alive and open and such a puzzle to him at the same time. He can never solve all her pieces, or decipher her thoughts.

His hands tighten at her waist as a she turns her head at the sound of a frog, somewhere nearby. "Did you ever dream of being a princess when you were a girl?"

When she turns to look at him, she's grinning. "Did you ever dream of being a prince?" Voice teasing, light and yet guarded. And then she's pulling him forward, until he can't steady himself in the thick, wet dirt any longer and they're both waded into the water. Dampness creeps up the front of her dress and it clings to her like a second skin, so that she looks almost naked in the dim lighting.

His hands grasp hers and he pulls her close, eyes never leaving her own as he runs his warm palms up the span of her cool arms, stopping at her shoulders and running his thumbs across her collarbone. He leans forward and lets his lips trail across her throat while he pulls her thin gown down until it's floating on the surface of the water, and the only thing between him and her bare skin is the thick night air.

"I dreamt of moonlight and girls named Guinevere." He whispers across her ear, lips landing beneath the soft lobe.

She laughs a shaky breath against his throat. "Liar."

The sound of her legs cutting through the water and their shared breath seems to be the only sound in the forest when his mouth finds hers.

Good. GOD.

Bradley James and Angel Coulby in the water, the gorgeous imagery, the sexual tension...wow, gurl. You are as always, prolific and AWESOME.

Have I ever told you you're my hero?
I'm almost positive I have, but it bears saying, again and again, because this is just so fucking gorgeous, Kat. Like, really.
You've got them down just so and the dialogue!
THE DIALOGUE.

When she turns to look at him, she's grinning. "Did you ever dream of being a prince?" Voice teasing, light and yet guarded. And then she's pulling him forward, until he can't steady himself in the thick, wet dirt any longer and they're both waded into the water. "I dreamt of moonlight and girls named Guinevere." He whispers across her ear, lips landing beneath the soft lobe.

She laughs a shaky breath against his throat. "Liar."

This whole thing rocks my fucking world.

Yeah well, you're the wind beneath my wings.

GAH DIALOGUE. I take your praise and hold it close to my bosom because dialogue and this fandom is a scary combination.

Oh, I like this a lot! It's hot in that sweet way that belongs to Gwen, and what will belong to Gwen with Arthur. And for some reason this detail:

He smiles, tossing the bit of grass he had been ripping apart to the ground before standing and making his way over to her.

stands out so strongly in my mind. And I adore their little banter.

:D *happy sigh*
