On his desk sat a bleach-white letter, with small, Times New Roman words spelling out things like “Columbia University” and “school of nursing” and “you’ve been accepted”. The words seemed excited for him, and that made Peter happy and nervous and very uncomfortable all at once.
“A Petrelli education, and that’s what you want to do with your life?” said Nathan incredulously.
“It fits you so well,” said Heidi, eyes shining.
“You’re much too sensitive to be a lawyer anyway, dear,” said his mother, patting his cheek.
His father said nothing.
