Yes, I'm going to be squeeing all~ week over this. Book III = LOVE!
And, having kept myself from any real spoilers after "The Boiling Rock," I'm bracing myself for my Zutara-OTP'ing heart to be completely and utterly BROKEN. Because canon likes to hurt the Grassy like that. *prepares box of tissues*
But for now I'll just keep being amused by the various bits of funny, as well as Katara versus Zuko. Plus, the Firebending Masters and FUSION-HA! the Dancing Dragon. As well as Sokka and Zuko bonding, plus Hakoda and Suki and TY LEE AND MAI, CHA~! I ♥LOVE♥ the girls in this series. ^.^
Is it weird of me to want to see some snarky friendship between Zuko and Suki?
...probably.
And I still really, really wish that Zuko/Mai appealed to me. But, uh. Zuko/Katara is my OTP to end all OTPs. And Mai/Ty Lee is so~ adorable. Although I'd enjoy Mai paired off with just about ANY of the female cast.
Plus, I've been TOTALLY jazzed up over the previews for tonight's episode. From the description it seemed to be Katara-centric, but it's about Katara AND Zuko, which just has me KEYBOARDSMASHING with delight!
And on to the new episode, CHA!
Haha, what a way to wake up. And eee~ Zuko saving Katara.
SOKKA WITH HIS HAIR DOWN, HOMG~!!!! ♥♥♥
Azula. You BITCH. But I'm so worried about Mai and Ty Lee! *chews fingernails*
And the reappearance of ninja skillz!Zuko.
Only not. FALLING~ TT_TT
And, again. SOKKA. HAIR DOWN. EEEEEEE~!
And finally, Suki has gotten the chance to join the gaang's activities.
Zuko! ALIVE! And a ninja like whoa. Against blue fire!
B-O-O-M! And Katara catches him. :D
Azula, hair down. WHY SO PRETTY, YET SO EVIL?
Merrymaking and Zuko the Heroic. With a very disgruntled Katara.
Sokka: "What's with her?"
Zuko: "I wish I knew."
Sokka: "What's with him?"
Katara versus Zuko is ALWAYS fun. I hate puns - despise them, actually - but they totally and completely SPARK in such wonderful ways. Even when it's not, necessariy, in GOOD ways.
Hahaha, Suki and Zuko! XD
Suki, you are SO not sneaky. But going so long without your honey has gotta be difficult, especially when you're stuck in prison when you find him again. And then surrounded by family and friends. *snerks*
And HAHAHAHAHA poor Zuko. The tent. SOKKA. FLOWERS. The centerfold in a BL manga, haha!
And, Sokka, you suck at reassurance. I mean, you REALLY suck.
LITTLE SOKKA AND KATARA. CUTE~!
But badness. And, wow, what different uniforms. They came and left? WTF? *wants to make dirty remarks*
Sea ravens. Hunh.
Still with the unsubtle, Sokka.
I...don't think that was what Katara was expecting to hear from Zuko, of all people.
Katara's turn for a field trip with Zuko!
"Katara, you sound like Jet."
O_O Um...
Rat-viper. EWW. Let me repeat, EWW.
Katara is really NOT all sweetness and mothering discipline this time around. It's nice to see these not-so-nice sides of her. Especially when she's all ninja!Katara.
Guru Goody-Goody. For once, Zuko is actually humor-funny, rather than lame-funny.
I think this episode is going to be a learning experience for both Zuko and Katara, especially in regards to forgiveness. Because, the way I see it, they BOTH have issues with such matters.
SNEAKY INK ATTACK!
"I'm not the helpless little girl I was when they came."
Nothing like childhood trauma to shape the person you will one day become.
Kaya was REALLY pretty. Katara definitely resembles her. (And now I've got this weird idea for a Bato/Hakoda/Kaya triangle-threesome-thingy. MUST RESIST.)
Zuko and Katara, when not fighting, work really well together.
A sky bison UNDERWATER. Heh. *is amused*
Retired four years ago? Why am I NOT surprised. That's the way of it.
Oh, well. At least there was bloodbending, which never gets old. And ZUKO got the chance to really see it. *is happy*
"Yes, Mother."
HAHAHA~! Not so tough NOW, is he?
But, uh. STORM. I don't think this is gonna go very well.
Trip wire! Confrontation!
Oh, no. Searching for a waterbender. KATARA.
So finally, we know exactly why Kaya was killed. She sacrificed herself for Katara. TT__TT That's a mother's love for you. Katara DEFINITELY takes after her.
What a weak, cowardly man. Taking his mother away would be a blessing he doesn't deserve.
Katara is so pretty on the dock, in the sunset. What a nice visual that was, her feet playing in the water idly.
"But I am ready to forgive you."
HUG! ZUTARA HUG! WAI~! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
But, uh, I kinda have to agree with Zuko on this one. What WILL you do, Aang?
Totally have to catch the second showing of this, na no da. And, wai~ previews!
"That's not what I'm like! And I'm not a woman!"
NEED NEXT EPISODE NOW!
Went with
clearday_4ever to see Hellboy II last Friday. Although the first movie was okay, it didn't really strike me. The characters were all blah~ and characterization is 3/4 of what makes something awesome in my eyes. It doesn't matter how bad/cheesy/WRONG that remaining 1/4 (PLOT!) is, as long as I like the characters. Of whom none even slightly amused me. This time around, though... Heh.
Liz underwent the most remarkable change, in a most wonderful way. She was little more than a zombie in the first movie. A zombie with ANGST. This time, though, her character was both intriguing and endearing. And hahaha having to give birth to TWO of Red's children - I totally pity the woman! XD
Hellboy...well, he was still kinda immature in annoying ways, but he continued to grow as the story progressed.
Abe was so adorkable! What with his sibling-esque bonding with Liz, his geekfests with Johann, his crush on Nuala. AND. Getting DRUNK with RED. While SINGING.
IT WAS TOTALLY HILARIOUS, NO DA~!
But truthfully, it was Prince Nuada and Princess Nuala who truly captured me. Their bond was just so there. The love they felt for one another - as merely siblings or the fantastically unsubtle incestuous overtones - was so obvious a bond. Granted, I realized how it was all going to end even before the hints of a deeper twin-link between the two. Stories like that are kind of their own tragic fairy tales - the Princess, knowing that to kill one would doom them both, sacrifices herself to stop her beloved brother from continuing his madness.
Although, I was rather of the opinion, myself, that they really would have been better off letting humankind hang. All Nuada wanted was to save his people from the imminent danger of humanity; even Nuala could understand and sympathize with that, despite not agreeing to his methods.
*sighs* And now I'm craving good - or even just slightly mediocre - Nuada x Nuala fic. I mean, Abe x Nuala is really cute and all, but it didn't have the same depth as the relationship between the twins.
I really need to make some Nuada and Nuala icons.
