Have now finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows -
beware oncoming, spoilerific fangasm.
He felt like asking them to show a little more respect for his privacy as they all began stripping off with impunity, clearly much more at ease with displaying his body than they would have been with their own. Heheheh... X3
Hedwig, no~! TT____TT
I must say, the Fred/George interaction in chapter five reminded me oddly of Hikaru/Kaoru (Ouran Koukou Host Club) in their more serious moments. Yes, I'm in something of a Gred/Forge mood now.
I'm still struck by my official WTFS?! stance on Remus/Tonks. Despite knowing it's to many a fan's liking, I just don't get it at all. Nor do I understand just how it came to be. And, er...a baby? Between them? *is frightened*
Chapter six. Hermione's parents. DAMN. Plus, her preparatory skills. *_* But I do wonder about just how her parents will react to everything, once it's all said and done...
Krum! Viktor appears again, yay~! Although it also makes the Viktor/Hermione fangirl side of me sad.
And FINALLY. We finally learn more about Dumbledore. Whether you love him or hate him, y'gotta admit, there were few personal things about him made known.
Sirius's bedroom, hee! XD And Kreacher! And, as we all know, Hermione is so very rarely wrong.
Trio breaking apart - quite expected. Right up until it actually happened during the Triwizard Tournament, I'd expected it. Ever since, I've been waiting for it once again (even if, as in this case, it was helped along by a Horcrux).
The bits in which, through their connection, Harry saw himself as Voldemort and vice versa were great. I love things like that, no matter the series I'm reading. ^.^
The Trio's reunion. Nfu~♥ I do so love it when Hermione gets pissed beyond belief. That's one of the few things about Book Six that I really enjoyed.
Ack! Luna! My wonderful, beloved Luna! TT________TT Getting captured and all that, grarrgh!
...I should be saying "Poor Dobby," but I've really never felt much attachment for him. And wanted to kick him in the head more often than not because of his stupid stunts.
Breaking into Gringotts. Stealing from Gringotts. *____*
Teddy Remus Lupin. I...have no words.
"Well, he's not my type, but he'll do. Hn. How very gay of you, Harry.
Wow, "wandless" could now be considered interchangeable with how muggles say "homeless." *is reminded of
a certain episode of South Park*
PERCY~! Am so happy! *snuggles Percy-kins*
Bloody Baron/Grey Lady OTP~! ^.~
"OI! There's a war going on here!" Hahaha, Harry, you poor thing!
"IF WE DIE FOR THEM, I'LL KILL YOU, HARRY!" Aww~ Harry, you went and saved your selfish, bitchy, silvery ferret of a boyfriend!
*grabs new tissue box* FRED! NO, NO, NO!!!!!
AND! AND SEVERUS! AND REMUS! AND TONKS! DAMN YOU, JKR!!!!!!
HOMG Snape/Lily interaction! Pre-James/Hogwarts/etc.! *gives JKR several bonus points* But HEARTBREAK! NO~!!!! And so much about Petunia makes sense now.
"Would you like me to do it now?" asked Snape, his voice heavy with irony. "Or would you like a few moments to compose an epitaph?" HAHAHA, SEVERUS! LOVE!!!!
Snape's Patronus. OH-EM-EFFING-GEE.
COLIN, TOO?! *sobs*
But he was home. Hogwarts was the first and best home he had known. He and Voldemort and Snape, the abandoned boys, had all found home here... Damn, but I love this bit. It just kinda hits me, what with my love of all three of 'em.
Family reunions are always hell, even when they go well, but I think Harry's takes the cake on that one.
THE SEVENTH HORCRUX. HOLY FLIPPIN' HELL. But it does explain why Lily's protection would still work, considering the use he made of Harry's blood. I'd always wondered about that. But the twin cores thing. @_@ Oro?
But I kinda always guessed that it'd take being DEAD for Dumbledore to start actually spilling secrets to those most in need of them. DAMN, but he was quite infatuated with Grindelwald, wasn't he?
Plus. Malfoy family lurve. ♥ Makes me crave some Lucius/Narcissa ficcage featuring baby!Draco, nfu.
Voldemort's death. Fucking shit. It was like an old-fashioned, Wild West showdown. Only, y'know. With wizards and the like. Although I had hoped the Final Battle would end up taking out both Harry and Voldemort. *pouts*
All I really have to say about the epilogue, other than my issues with certain canon pairings and whatnot, is this: Albus Severus. I would love to see the look on Book One Harry's face if he were told that he'd one day name a son of his after the greasy git, Snape.
So, yeah. Overall, Book Seven was interesting and actually held my attention, even if my own personal quibbles did intrude here and there. Pretty much made up for Book Six, though.
AND IT MADE SEVERUS'S LOVE FOR LILY CANON. OH. OH, MY FANGIRLY HEART. HOW FAST IT BEATS.
On the other hand, I'm still upset about the latest HP movie. I could have handled it, for the most part, if there had at least been more of the sullen, angry teenager that Harry was in Book Five.
PISS. ME. OFF.
And the kitties! The poor, poor kitties! All stuck on their plates and mewling. It was weird in the book, but actually seeing it... Creeps me the hell out.
Now, I think I'mma gonna fall into bed. Ne~ed sle~ep...
