Last night was the most amazing V-Day I've ever had.
clearday_4ever and I went to see AFI last night.
IT WAS FUCKING AMAZING, NA NO FRICKIN' DA~!!!
Okay, granted, we sat at the doors in freezing cold weather (and only our coats and a blanket to warm us) starting at noon. The doors didn't even open until 7:00 that evening. So we sat, we froze, we made friends with several other people there. It was fun, albeit cold. (Yay~ combined body heat!) Thank you - whatever your name was - guy that gave us the Hot Hands! 'Twas because of you that we were only partially frozen, rather than complete ice cubes. ^_^
So after battling the weather (it started to SNOW at one point!) and the crowd mushing together in a "line" over an hour before the doors opened, we finally got inside and settled down. After the horrors of the crowd outside, we just wanted to sit, rather than get in the midst of all that again...especially not once the beer started flowing. Yick.
First off, the opening band The Dear & Departed was awesome. I'm now the proud owner of one of their shirts. As well as a CD and buttons and stickers...
Heh. Oh, yeah. They're worth fangirling over quite a bit.
Sick of it All, however... Well, maybe I wouldn't have thought them so bad if I'd ever heard their music before seeing them live. They just didn't do it for me at all. Though it was fun to watch them rile up the crowd.
And then... And then...
AFI!
Eeeeeee~~~!!!!!!!! *dies*
Oh, I hardly even remember what all they played for all the brain cells that just seeing them killed. I was a smidge sad that they didn't play Days of the Phoenix, though. BUT OMG THEY WERE SO AWESOME!!!!!!
Davey writhing about onstage, singing with that lovely voice! Jade and his cute hip wiggling thing! Hunter! Adam! ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Best. Night. Of. My. Life. Without a doubt.
Even though it was goddamn cold out there. And now I'm sick from a combination of extreme cold and screaming.
