*sniffles* Not fair! So not fair! T______T I just read all of Paradise Kiss earlier and, as much as I love it, I'm in total denial of the ending. *shakes head* No, no, no - didn't happen!
I had a feeling, just after reading volume two, that this would end just like it did, but I was so hoping to be wrong! *grabs tissue box* Dammit, normally when I read shoujo manga, it's stuff that has a happy ending - not that ParaKiss doesn't, but it's not one that suits my taste. George x Yukari! Waaaaaahhhh~!!!! I want them to still be together; it's canon, but with a feeling of crack to it that I just enjoy all too well. It doesn't help that I've only been reading manga of late that was either mostly smut (Yay yaoi! Yay Shinjo Mayu!) or happy-happy shoujo cuteness (Tanemura Arina, wai~!). Most of all, I really wanted an ending that satisfied me in a similar manner as to when I finished reading Mars.
*sighs* I've read way too many romance novels in my life. I'm stuck on the whole happily-ever-after scenario and I want said happy ending to be shared between the characters I love seeing together the most. The Velvet Goldmine reference early on should have made me much more suspicious, nya...
But overall, despite my denial of the ending, ParaKiss was still one of the best series I've ever read. Yazawa Ai-sensei is amazing, na no da. Likely, this is something I'll read many more times in the future (only not going past George's departure, so I can delude myself with the thought of him reuniting with Yukari).
Now I have to get ahold of Gokinjo Monogatari, so I can find out more about Tsutomu and Mikako...
No fic rec this time around, since I'm about to post a fic. It's ParaKiss, not any of my theme fics, but I should have this week's post finished and up by tomorrow evening.
