Minna-san! The Grassy hath returned to thee after several months lacking internet services due to insufficient funding!
Meaning, Grassy was broke as hell. But that's okay, 'cause now I've got internet back and paid up for the next few months. We'll see about things after that.
I woulda kept up with my LJ, but most of my online time (provided by my dearest friend
clearday_4ever) was spent keeping up with my fanlistings (though not very well) and keeping my email account from exploding. Hopefully, I'll have complete updates on my fanlistings within the next week or so.
But, hey - I've been working on fic during my time away! And on Winamp skins. Lots and lots of Winamp skins. I've got to get them all uploaded somewhere, then they (along with all my previous skins) will be made available soon. There's even a few that have matching wallpapers. Go, Grassy!
Speaking of winskins, does anyone know where the Grassy can find a high-quality scan of the ShishiTori Haaaaaaaat picture that I can use? Or the Yohji/Asuka tarot card? The Grassy will be forever grateful to anyone who can help.
I plan to have a new layout very soon. While I didn't get to enjoy what I have up now for very long due to my forced separation from the internet, it's still very old. I really want to get something different up. Most likely it'll be a Death Note layout of some kind, since I'm in a bit of a mood for that. Probably a grungy piece featuring Raito and/or L. Or possibly Mello and/or Near. But if I can find some nice Ayato/Haruka images, I might try a RahXephon layout, 'cause I'm totally 'shipping those two at the moment. Plus, I can't think of a het pairing I've ever used in a layout here that wasn't het by way of genderbending.
I'm pretty sure I've lost my
30_kisses pairings due to lack of updates for several months, but never fear! Though they may not be official anymore, I have yet to permanently let a fic go without being completed. Both Domestic Bliss? and Eien no Rival have a number of parts that have been completed; I just have to scrounge through my notebooks to find them all, then type everything up.
While on the subject of fic... I've got a number of things that, after a final bit of proofreading, are ready to be distributed. Most are Naruto based, which seems to have become what Buffy the Vampire Slayer once was; Hinata-sama is my new Willow. Plus, I have a couple of Inuyasha one-shots, one of which is an Inutaisho x Izayoi backstory piece. It's kinda turned into a Sesshoumaru introspective as well, which really wasn't my purpose in the beginning. *grumbles* Damn muses, taking over things like that...
One Little Spark has been worked on quite a bit, but nothing that I can update with soon. It's all later bits I seem to have written. I also started a completely cracked out bit of Harry Potter angst and wretchedness after reading Book 6. It's Snape-centric, need I say more?
...thought not...
And while on the subject, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was outstanding! Though, to tell the truth (and no offense to JKR whatsoever), the whole thing seemed to read like a novel-length fanfic to me. ^____^
Granted, I really want an explanation for the whole Snape-killing-Dumbledore-thing (and just when old Dumbly was getting more tolerable to me, too) 'cause the Grassy is in such adoration of Severus Snape, na no da.
The Ron/Hermione was cute and well-done, especially with Ron's idiotic displays of jealousy and his doomed relationship with Lavender (like we didn't all notice that impending shipwreck for the past couple books). *smirks* Won-Won. Hermy-chan has gotten quite vicious in regards to vengeance, I must say. It's wonderful, nya~! This isn't a pairing I like in fanfic (Severus/Hermione!), but JKR has written it smashingly in canon.
I was highly disappointed in the Harry/Ginny relationship and greeted the eventual breakup with smiles and chocolate. Not that it wasn't written believably or that I didn't see it coming, but Harry/Ginny just isn't a pairing that interests me in any way, whatsoever. The whole reason I got into Harry Potter in the first place was because of a Connor/Dawn (Angel/Buffy the Vampire Slayer) series that crossed over with HP and introduced me to the addictive greatness of Draco/Ginny. Even to this day, despite the number of HP pairings I like, Draco/Ginny is still my favorite.
Poor Bill - not as good-looking as before, but at least the guy still has the love and adoration of a beautiful woman, na no da. I adore Fleur.
Remus. Tonks. *twitches* Together. x___@ Grassy is forever traumatized. I'd rather hoped that this would remain one of the many crack pairings occupying fandom rather than becoming canon, though I know a number of others feel differently. *sighs* I dunno, I guess it's just 'cause the thought of Remus being straight just weirds the hell out of me. Despite my apathy for the pairing, I've always considered Sirius/Remus to be canon; unstated, but still canon.
But, on a lighter note... House elves! Fighting! Dobby vs. Kreacher was highly amusing. Yep, yep. That it most certainly was. ^____^
Also in my time away, the selection of anime at the local Sam Goody and Best Buy have proven fruitful and the Grassy has now had the opportunity to see many a good yaoi/shounen-ai series of late. Most of this is due, of course, to my best friend and her funds, but not completely.
Level C was just hilarious. Blushing uke! Invisible cock!
Boku no Sexual Harassment was fucked up. Interesting...intriguing...disgusting...but overall it was pretty good.
Gravitation: Lyrics of Love was frickin' awesome, na no da~!!! Though at times in the opening credits, Shuichi was really damn creepy. But, but! Awesome-ness, nonetheless!
Kizuna: Much Ado About Nothing was just...ack! I adored it! Ran-cha~n!
Mirage of Blaze was wonderful, na no da! When a character's angst has angst, you know the Grassy is gonna be all over it. ^_____^
Sensitive Pornograph was something I bought for myself as a birthday gift. I adore it like I adore very few things in life. *smirks* Can I be a pet-sitter like Ueno? I've been talking about how I'd like a rabbit for a pet; Aki-chan suits my tastes just fine, mrawr~.
Got to read the last volume of Gravitation, too, which was just awesome. Not my favorite volume, but still so very awesome. The only downside - no Mika. I adore Mikarin, and Tohma x Mika is a wonderful pairing, na no da. Volume ten totally kicked ass in my book - it's the Grassy's favorite so far! Though volume twelve...damn. Crossdressing Hiro is always good, fufufu.
And - Suguru! Dinosaur jammies! *sparkles ecstatically*
And now I'm starting a new tradition along with the fic recommendations - AMV recs! ^_____^ Be warned, most will be hosted at
AnimeMusicVideos.Org, so you might have to join to gain access (if by some chance you're not already scouring the place for interesting AMVs). Enjoy!
AMV Rec Of The Now:
Title -
I Need HerFandom(s) - Weiß Kreuz
Song(s) - Ya Soshla S Uma by t.A.T.u.
Ramblings - ...because yes, Grassy is an urepentant Ran x Aya-chan shipper. Fujimiyacest rocks! *adoresadoresadores* It's my favorite het-WK pairing. Nagi x Tot and Yohji x Asuka are up there really high, but don't quite manage to match the greatness of Fujimiyacest. So, yeah... Enjoy the crazy incestuous-ness. And there's t.A.T.u. - how can anyone resist that combo? ^____^
Fic Rec Of The Now:
Shibboleth - And, to keep with the Fujimiyacest theme, here's a wonderful piece that flips between that and Crawford x Schuldich. As the author puts it, Schuldig proves a villain, Ran proves a lover, Crawford proves he's to be obeyed, and Aya proves to be more than just a sister. This fic just draws you in and latches on to your emotions, jerking you this way and that in a rather enjoyable manner. Pretty much the best Ran x Aya-chan fic in existence; not that there are many, but still, it's outstanding.
